I would like to buy a dvdrw drive it would save me a lot of work when it comes to ghosting systems, but I keep hearing people talk about dvd+RW and dvd-RW or there drives out there that can burn both of these standards.

Yes, indeed, DVD-RAM, DVD-RW and DVD+RW are all DIFFERENT standards from
different manufacturers (but it mostly affect the media, that is, the dvd disks themselves).
You should be fine if you buy a well-etablished name-brand drive (Sony, Toshiba etc.).

If you HAVE to have one right now, go with DVD-RW. It's the most compatible type of DVD Recordable media out of all the choices, especially for stand alone DVD players.
