Buying Advice Requested

I'm in the process of deciding a video card to buy for my new system: AthlonXP 1700+/ 8KHA+ combo

I dunno exactly what's teh deal w/ the new GF4's coming out...but I know I won't have the $ for it. I recently saw a cheap $49 card called the VISIONTEK Xtasy 5632 GEFORCE2 GTS-V. What's the deal w/ the GTS-V and where does it fit in the GF performance line?

Then again, I hear that ppl are saying get the GF3 Ti200s soon when they will drop in price after the GF4s are released. When will that be? Will it be worth the wait? By that time, should one still buy a Ti200 over a Ti500, etc?

Please provide helpful advice to a FPS gamer w/ a medium budget, Thanks!!!11

My advice is save some more money and get a gf3 or radeon 8500 nothing less. With the system u got it would be a waste to get anything less. Doesn't matter how much cpu or ram u got, if your video card suks your graphics will suk. Example: my friend got one of those bundle systems with 1.3ghz cpu etc., but on board video. He still is amazed how much faster my self built 950mhz, with gf2 is. So save up the $$, you won't be sorry.🙂

The GTS-V's are slightly slower than the standard GTS (the original geforce 2). A geforce 2 ti 200 will smack it hardily. But it outpaces any of the 2mxs, easily.

I doubt there will be an immediate drop of over $10-15, if that, so it's probably safe to get a ti200 sooner than later.
