Need some buying advice. I want the best 400W PSU I can get but for under $50 if possible.

Directron has good variety, including TTGI 420W $47

I have the TTGI on my current rig and it's always worked great.

This one is $52. Thermaltake 420W

Coolmax 400W $49

But then I came across this House Brand from OC System 400W $25 and look at the rail specs, it seems to hold it's own against Antec etc. But what am I missing? Is it too good to be true? I'm only interested in value and quality, not special effects or quietness.

Thanks for any help.

You get what you pay for. A $25.00 power supply is a $25.00 power supply. Go with a good name brand a spend the extra $$ Antec, Enermax, Sparkle, are all good, solid units at reasonable prices. 400W Sparkle at newegg - $63.00, 400W Antec @ newegg - $59.99, 420WW Thermaltake @ newegg $58.99.

Shop around. Without power, your computer is nothing. I know you asked for under $50. If you shop around, you can get close.

Sour power is the number one cause for hardware failure, remember that!!!
