Buying a used cell phone?

I'm going to be out in the middle of the damn ocean for four months on a cruise ship this summer, so I'd like to upgrade my Blackberry from the Pearl to a Curve. It has more screen real estate and will be better for me to have on my trip.

I don't, however, want to sign another stupid sixty year contract with Verizon. Is eBay the best place to buy a safe, used Blackberry?

Has anyone had any experience with this?

Phone'd.

If only there were a forum for these, what do you call them? Cell Phones?

68 women disagree with you...

I've never dealt with Verizon, but I bought an unlocked Samsung (have t-mobile) on ebay a few years ago and I'm still using it.

Are you sure you're going to get service on the cruise ship? My gf just recently went on a cruise and she had no service the entire time (Verizon btw)

Now we know why newly entitled Lifer's can't find the Lifer Forum - it's listed as the Douche bag Forum.
