also, there is a thing called a 'fairing' (available as additional option with the Q Towers model at least) that helps to reduce wind noise, so I would think that actually helps reduce drag as well. it diverts wind up, as opposed to having it manuever through the snowboard/ski equipment. just a thought!

WOw - my own GF is posting here now!! LOL, this is supposed to be a gift for YOU!! So stop looking!! SHHHHHHH..

Screw snowboard racks!
Put the board in your car. Mounting a board will cause it damage... there is also a lot of corrosion caused and damage done with the wind on the board going over the edges, and the salt off the roads. Unless you put a wax seal on your edges JUST before you head home.. you'll damage the board.

Ender510:

You might want to consider one of those carrier 'boxes', both Thule and Yakima make great ones. They come in all shapes and sizes. Not only will they protect your equipment from the elements, they keep them outta sight...out of sight out of mind, theft deterence. Most come with locks I think, you will have to purchase the lock sets extra if you go with a regular rack. You can also use them in the Summer to carry/store camping gear, luggage, etc. Just a thought....
