Why should you care about the opinions of others on such matters? If you need a car, buy a car.

The company was Papa John's International- their headquarters. Rumor was Papa John didn't like somebody lower than him driving a nicer car, Papa likes his automobiles.
Exactly. If you have taken care of your finances and can comfortably afford it and can weather a layoff with the new car note, go for it.
That works, too.My "Am I a moron" litmus test is "did you buy a car new?"
Uh, well I scanned your first post and just missed that part. I'm retarded, I won't try and excuse it away.I am not worried about somehow losing my job over the car and not being able to pay for the car.. I am worried that the reality of the 'impression' of someone buying a new/nice car in a small business that isn't doing well. As the poll shows, not a great idea.
The car he's thinking of buying IS used douche!
This is not out of character for people and companies in general. Really. Never drive a better car than you boss has ... has been the advice. The company was Papa John's International- their headquarters. Rumor was Papa John didn't like somebody lower than him driving a nicer car, Papa likes his automobiles.
