Hi all, I just needed a little input on whether i should buy an Athlon 64 3500+ or a 3400+, of course being s.939 and 754 respectively, I can't really decide on which to get. On one hand, with the 3500+ i can supposedly take advantage of my dual-channel'd Corsair 3200XL memory, but i've heard the performance difference is negligable. Then.. on the other hand, I could get the 3400+ (planning to get the 1MB L2 cache version if I do) which will cost around $60-75 less, along with a significantly cheaper motherboard.. any help would be a appreciated.

Go with niether, I just bought a 3500 and wish I bought a 3000 or a 3200. I can only get my 3500 to clock to around 2530ghz and almost all of the 3000 or 3200 do the same. 939 is likely the chip style the dual cores will come out on so i would stay away from the 3400. If you are not going to overclock go with the 3500 but if i did it over again i would have saved myself some money and bought a 3200

Well, I want to get an upgrade worthwhile, a bit faster than a 3200+ or lower. I don't really plan to jump out an buy dual-core chip anytime afterwards, also. Perhaps i'll over-clock the 3500+ chip, I already bought a zalman cnps-7000cu HSF to go along with it, so I guess the 3500+ it is.
