Looks great!

Reasonably lightweight (< 5 lbs.)...

All the bells & whistles...

Would be nice with Firewire, but you can always add that with a PCMCIA card.

I would drop 1GB of RAM in that puppy first thing.

Good luck with the new lappy!

They look clunky, but they're built like TANKS... extremely reliable.

They're made for people who actually expect to get alot of USE out of what they buy. :)

Best laptops out there. I wish they would make a wide screen version for graphics people who aren't on the Apple bandwagon.

Very nice choice but its not cheap. If I ever get a laptop, it will be an IBM for sure.

I have a T40 that I use for work, and it's very nice. The battery life sucks, but that's just about my only complaint. Love the integrated wireless (though it would be nice if the antenna had more range).

It's the best I have found. I wouldn't mind getting a 1.4ghz model otherwise the same to save a few hundred, but I don't see any with the specs I want. I have checked hotdeals daily for the last few days and nothing has come up recently.

Of course, as soon as I order the thing there will be a deal to get a similar but superior model for about 60% of the price.

I went ahead and ordered it, I figure I'll get it sometime early next week.

I can't wait.

I got it. It's sweet but runs sort of sluggish right now, it shipped with only 256MB of RAM. I have 512MB more on it's way from crucial, I think 768MB should be plenty for me. For now i'm just messing around, oce I get all my RAM I'm planning to do a clean install of XP Pro, possibly fedora on another partition.

I just ordered my friend that same exact one from Newegg. So far, he's pretty pleased. I have a T40 myself but don't really care too much for the wireless range. I still use my Orinoco Gold with it and in the areas I don't get great signal, my ORinoco has full signal. Other than that, this is probably the best laptop I have owned. I have owned Compaq, Toshiba, Dell, and Gateway and none compare to the Thinkpads quality and durability.
