Buying a e2160 n waiting for Q9x50 prices 2 drop?

I wonder if u guys think buying a e2160 and overclocking it would be a smart decision.
Since you could get a 2160 (tray)for about 47? or 75$ including shippment it might be clever 2 wait for let´s say q9550 or q9450 prices to drop 2 an affordable level.
I pretty much aim for the actual prices of an q6700. (About 162? or 257?, again tray and inkl shippment). On the other hand i would start with a q6600 (tray 4 about 138? or 219 bucks, again incl shippment). The q6600 however would have to last some time without upgrade.

Still the good old bang 4 buck question...
btw i want to fire a 4870 so the e2160 will be overclocked to 3.2 min, more 3.5

Intel price cuts take effect at the end of month. Just 2 more weeks. By then, there may be gpu's with lower prices. GTX 200's just have price cuts.

The E2160 at Microcenter is only $60 for retail box. I would count on more or less making it to 3.2Ghz. Anything more is probably a stretch. No way you would make it to 3.5.

If you want a higher-clocked dual-core, get an E7200 (wait for the $20 price drop this month), or wait for an E5200.
