Can anyone 1help me find good websites from which to buy the system, games and a case? (In Canada)

What games do you guys recommend? Old and new (including GBA). Looking more for pick up and play games but will consider any you recommend.

Which is better: Trauma Center 1 or 2? Brain Age 1 or 2?

What kind of accessories can I get? There is something to browse the internet right? Does it work well? How much does it cost?

I also want to play ROMS on it, what will I need? A micro SD card? What kind and where to buy? A website with instruction on how to get the roms to work?

Thanks a lot!

Don't think you can discuss roms here, not exactly the most legal of things you can do with that.

I found some of the missions in trauma center 1 to be ridiculously difficult. Doing it perfect then missing a pixel when cutting or something just led to major fustration.

TC2 is much better in this regard.

Do you have Costco in your corner of Canada? There was recently a $100 bundle Hot Deal(tm). You DO know about the Hot Deal message board(s), correct?

Of course you can discuss roms here, everybody on AT backup their legally purchased games as roms, store the original games in the fire proof safe, and play the roms through their R4.

Yes absolutely. I personally own all my 2,500 games; they're all legally purchased. And I also own an "r4ds" and a backup of everysingle one of those roms.

R4ds is what you're looking for. you can get um everywhere nowadays,, check for shipping, it won't cost alot since the r4ds is so small, but if it ships from hongkong which sometimes they do, then it takes at least 2-3 weeks.

don't you ever download any roms off the internet. you can get viruzes

Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow/Portrait of Ruin are must-haves, I also think the Ace Attorney series of games (Phoenix Wright/Apollo Justice) are incredible (they are adventure games with heavy amounts of reading and require a lot of attention and patience but the quality of writing is incredible, the characters and the cases are pretty memorable, the music is epic), Mario Kart DS, Puzzle Quest, Elite Beat Agents and Tetris DS are pretty good games to boot up and play in quick bursts or long sessions if you desire.

Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword is also a superb action game with tight controls and great visuals, I didn't think New Super Mario Bros. was nearly as good as the other 2D Mario platformers. Trauma Center is good but difficult as hell, if you are only going to get one then get Trauma Center 2 but you'll be lost in the story at first (gameplay is more refine in TC2 however). I didn't ever get Brain Age 1 but Brain Age 2 is okay I guess, these games don't really make you any smarter and they get old after a while, I only ever boot it up to play the piano minigame.

You also have a bunch of great RPGs, the Final Fantasy 3D remakes, Rune Factory (Harvest Moon + RPG), The World Ends With You, Mario & Luigi Partners In Time, Magical Starsign, Pokemon Diamond/Pearl, Final Fantasy Tactics A2, Lunar Knights, Phantom Hourglass.

On the strategy side you have Advance Wars, Civilization Revolution both of which are awesome and a few others games like Age of Empires, the upcoming Age of Mythology, Heroes of Mana, Revenant Wings and others.

My favorite DS games personally are Castlevania and Ace Attorney and would recommend those the highest.

I don't really recommend accessories aside from a screen protector (try a good brand like Hori, you only need a protector for the touch screen), a case (protective or otherwise) is not necessary because the DS is light enough to carry, it's screen are protected by it's own casing and it's incredibly resilient to bangs (I actually hit mine on the corner of a stair and there were no scratches or dents to be seen).

The Internet Browser is Opera and it doesn't work very well, I wouldn't recommend browsing the net on the Nintendo DS, it's not a very pleasant experience. It's not very expensive though.

You don't want an R4, it's pretty outdated by now, you should look for a DS TopToy, Acekard 2, Edge for entry level (but great) flashcarts, for something a little bit higher end you can buy a CycloDS Evolution, an Acekard R.P.G., an M3 DS Real (not DS Simply, that's a clone of the R4 and it's outdated by now) or a Supercard OS One SDHC. They all support SDHC microSD cards if you wish to use them. You can get them at places like ConsoleSource, Gameyeeeah, modchip.com and KickGaming.

Flashcarts are pretty easy to use, they all come with moonshell which lets you play videos and music and they all have auto-DLDI patching for drag 'n' drop homebrew. You shouldn't run ROMs on flashcarts but if you desire it's also a drag n drop deal much like homebrew. Good homebrew to use is SNEmulDS, ScummVM DS, Colors!, DiagnoSe, Lameboy DS, Pocket Physics, DSOrganize and the great variety of games out there.

Ackchemm,,, R4DS. Screen protector is useless because the protectors themselves scratch up pretty easily on the touch screen, WHICH means you'll be looking at a scratched up screen.. The original ds touch screen surface is pretty impervious to damage to begin with. If you're not an idiot, you really WON"T need a screen protector.

What the hell is ackchemm?

The R4DS is useless now, it was a great thing when it released but there are better alternatives now.

Directly quoted from my post, I think there'e even more, the R4 doesn't even support SDHC which means the max size microsd you'll be able to use is 2GB.

Sorry, I didn't read your big post due to OT laziness.
