Buying a CarFax on Ebay for $7? Has anyone done this before?

I have a used car (Hyudai Elentra 2006) and I was thinking about purchasing a CarFax. Well they are a bit expensive at $40, but on ebay I noticed that people will send you a CarFax in a few hours for about $7.

Has anyone done this? Is it a good idea? Bad idea? Thoughts...

I would assume someone has a subscription or whatever. Eh, for a cheap used car what the heck. It's not the end-all be-all anyway.

I'd like to know what work was done on the history. Any type of history would be good.

Right, I'm not suggest it isn't a good idea. I'm only stating a lot of stuff never makes it to Carfax.

I've got some sketchy craigslist guy who does carfax and autocheck for ~$12. I don't expect I'd get any of the buyback guarantees/etc but I view those as worthless anyway, so it works for me.
