Buying a Bernzomatic propane torch kit tomorrow.

I'll only be using these to light coals, so I just need something cheap that works. Is the trigger-start any easier to use than a normal pencil torch? How do you light normal (non-trigger starting) pencil torches? Thanks!

I use the non-triggered type, and I use a friction lighter (like the ones for acetylene torches). I've also used the long cheap lighters that spark. I've never used one to light coals though - only for sweat soldering or the like.

It's the best way to light coals! That reminds me I need to get another tank.

Thanks! I remember using those in my chemistry class.

OK, so I bought the non-trigger type, because it's actually easier to light it once and wait until the coals are ready, instead of keeping your finger depressed on the trigger. Wow, it was less than $12 for a pencil torch set (tank and torch), and <$3 for a tank. :thumbsup:
