buying 32" HDTV, need advice

Got a couple Best Buy gift certificates for Christmas, and would like to buy a 32" HDTV. Looking at the models in store, I think I like the Samsung TX-P3271H the best. Anybody have one already? Should I look at other models instead ? I'm looking to keep the price under $1000.

Forgot to add that I'm limited by entertainment center space. The maximum tv width I can have is 36", that's why I think the largest tv I can get is a regular 32".

This is a great tv. I have a toshiba 57" and love it. My Dad just got this one. It looks great. It is very narrow since the speakers are on the bottom instead of the sides.

linky

yup

WIDTH? You'd better get some things cleared up, becuase TV " size is measured by the diagonal size of the screen... a 36" TV wouldn't be 36" wide, it'd be less.

if your looking for a good 4:3 hdtv for under 1000 go with the Sanyo 32" walmart has for 699 it has gotten great reviews at avsforum plus it has a built in tuner and also has HDMI inputs. Also alot of people have has decent luck getting it to work with HTPC's thru the DVI

Yes, width. Of course when you're talking about a 32" tv, you're talking about the diagonal size of the screen. But, when I say my entertainment center has 36" of space from one side to the other, I mean the horizontal distance between the two sides. If you look at the product specs on best buy, it gives you the product height, width, length, weight, and a bunch of other stuff. That 32" samsung is 35-7/8" wide. Turns out most 32" tv's are around that width or a little less. Every 35" tv I've seen is wider than 36 inches, and thus won't fit in my entertainment center. So, to get the most tv possible, I'd like to get a 4:3 instead of a 16:9.
