Buying 2407wfp, Best way to get sound out of my HD DVR box?

I currently have no speakers i use headphones and im returning my old tv set. How would i go about getting sound out of my HD DVR box? What kinda speakers under 100$ would do that?

Well you haven't told us what DVR you have, so we can't go look up what kinds of audio connections it has which you also didn't tell us.

So the answer is: Whatever kinda speakers will work with whatever kinda DVR you have.

Well, there's nothing on the net as far as audio outputs... and the manual isn't available online. So you're going to have to look at the back of the box or dig out your manual.

I have a set of Logitech Z-5500s that can accept the optical, coax, or analog connections from my DCT6200-2005 tuner.

If it has digital connections to output surround sound, it's going to be hard to find something cheap that will take a digital input.

This is over budget, but a decent starter set and would allow you to connect more sources easily.

Think thats better then buying the Logitech Z-5500s for the same price?

I like my Z-5500s and all, but the thing about them is that there's no upgrade path. Buying individual components lets you start with a receiver and a pair of speakers, then later add a sub, then more speakers, then upgrade your speakers, etc. over the years.

i really only want 2.1's though. i really have no use for 5.1's. My Box also has Component, thats what i would be using for my 2407WFP when i get it today. I have a Headphone jack to L and R audio plug so i can always connect it though there.

Then no need for the 5500's, which are a 5.1 set. Get the receiver and look for a pair of speaks and a sub, or if you want to go the PC speaker route, I hear good things about Klipsch 2.1 sets.

My DVR has Component. I was thinking of hooking up the component of the 2407wfp and using THIS and connecting The Klipsch 2.1 sets. Will that work? i can always swap it out when i need to use them for my comp

Nevermind, i think im going to use some X-230 Logitechs i got laying around to watch tv with.
