Hey all, looking @ this GTX 660ti roundup by hardwarecanucks,

http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/foru...roundup-asus-evga-gigabyte-galaxy-msi-10.html

most cards match, and some even surpass the GTX 670 (@ stock). Any of u regret buying the GTX 670 like me? I game @ 1080p and feel like i basically wasted the extra $100 on the GTX 670.:( i bought it 1 month before the 660ti was released. Am i missing some advantages the GTX 670 has over the 660ti? Also, the benchmarks show a stock GTX 670, does that mean they turned off the dynamic boost of the GTX 670? otherwise it would've beat the 660ti's it was up against?

well I don't really need the card, bought it cause I was bored and searching for something to make me happy
I could have gone with the 660 line of cards and been fine

I went with the gigabyte 670 also fairly close to the 660ti release and I have zero remorse about it. I also haven't spent money on my computer in >3years. I probably won't be buying a $400 graphics card again, but that doesn't mean I regret it.

I have msi lightning 680s which I don't regret a bit. There is no 670 or 660ti that comes close to the overclocking prowess of the lightnings - and the lightnings do not have the throttle nonsense that all 670s/660s have either. Even if they (660ti/670) do come close clockspeed wise - and they probably won't, I couldn't get ref 680s past 1240- they will have to deal with kepler throttle, I do not. Kepler throttle ruins overclocks.

My graphics score in 3dmark11 (P) is roughly 25k. The best 670 sli scores are substantially worse. Idiots will have you believe 660ti = 670 = 680. Pfft. So anyway, what i'm saying is that you should stick with your 670 and attempt to overclock it. Regardless of what any website would have you believe, it is better than the 660 especially once you add resolution, overclocking and anti aliasing.

I think the only thing anyone should have buyer's remorse about is buying a 660Ti. It's a terrible value when the 7870 can be had for close to $200 and the 7950 can be had for close to $300.

The delta between the 660Ti and 670 is much great (about 15% at stock) than the delta between the 670 and 680 (about 8-10% at stock), despite a similar price difference. Furthermore, they can all be overclocked about the same amount, so the delta remains.

yes but is the difference between an overclocked 1200MHz core 660ti and a stock 670 worth 100$?

RIP HardwareCanucks. That SKYMTL guy should take little retirement to cure his bias.

I have a 670 FTW that I love. I am at 1920x1200, and it's perfect. I may need some extra juice when I go to 2560x1440 though.

660ti overclocked is fairly close to vanilla 670 at 1080p, but not really very close at all to 670 on 680 PCB cards with much higher clocks, and can't catch up. OC 670s come in almost identical to vanilla 680, but a quality 680 OC card is once again out of reach, but the gap isn't as big from 670 to 680 as 660 to 670 is.

About the only regret I have is that the 7970 OC editions are pretty close in price to the 670 FTW, and are a little faster overall. But this is still a great card.

Buyers remorse isn't unusual, but a 100 dollars is 2 tanks of gas right now. So enjoy your card. 10-15% performance might be the difference to keep a game at 60fps v sync.

Nope because a 660ti in SLI wouldn't have the performance I want at 2560x1440.

When the 670 can clock above that and even higher(sometimes 1300+) with a MSI, Gigabyte, or Asus model...YES!

It's still amazing people believe that an OCed 660Ti = 670 on average for $100 less.

The minute you add high resolution textures or up MSAA, the 660Ti falls apart like a deck of cards. GTX670/7950 owners know exactly what they got. $300 for a card that can't handle high resolution textures/mods or MSAA sounds like a poor investment for current and future games unless a gamer only uses FXAA/no AA. With GTX670s dropping to $330-350 on sale on Amazon/Newegg, it's best to wait for another 670 deal.

Honestly, spending $400 on a GPU is nuts and it will quite often lead to buyer's remorse. I paid about that much for my 8800GTS, and while the card lasted me a very long time, I regretted spending that much, particularly when the $200 8800GT came out and obliterated it for half of what I paid, plus it had 512mb of vram vs 320mb on my GTS.

If I had money to spend I would probably go with a 7950. I recently bought a 7870 for $195 that I'm quite happy with. I only went that route so I could crossfire it with my 7850.

While at 1080p the cards may perform similarly, the 660ti 192 bus kind of holds it back a little. As others have said, if you go to higher resolutions or add in extra details, it won't be exactly the same as the 670. Besides you can get a factory OC 670 and overclock it past what you could do with the 660ti.

In all, I think the 660ti makes a great budget card for most people. I had my 560ti and I loved it. Of course I never bothered tweaking it and overclocking or setting my games with all the details maxed. I thought it did just fine because all those years before I had a shitty card lol.

No way I am loving mine. My card doesn't boost as well as spinejam's but with the vram overclocked past 7ghz and the core boosting to 1250mhz, it beats the piss out of a gtx660ti.

I'm happy with mine, but I am glad that I went with a Windforce OC. I run a Dell u3011 and it does fine for my needs, but I am not real FPS sensitive as long as it seems smooth to me. I don't get migranes and go into a coma if my FPS goes below 60.

The only remorse I have in a way is not being able to receive the Borderlands 2 bundle.

I did feel like I had to pay a 28nm premium for performance though but has been a nice upgrade over my GTX 470.

The key with the GTX 660ti is-is 15-20 percent more performance of the GTX 670 worth the 33 percent increase in MSRP?

Only prospective gamers can answer that question for themselves.

I bought my 7970 for $559.99 at release so I laugh at OP's buyers remorse. :p

But in all honesty I still think my 7970 was money well spent. When overclocked it's still a beast and should last me for the next 2 years.

I paid $560 for a GTX 680, and I don't regret it - especially since mine has unlocked voltage and can boost to 1400+. It was the first time I went top tier shortly after release, and I finally "get it" now. I've enjoyed games with blazing fast frames. Even in Skyrim where I have it modded to the point where it's starting to bring my 680 to its knees - there's a peace of mind in knowing that I cannot do any better (at least not right now) that is truly priceless.
