Buyer/Seller/Shipping/Insurance.....your opinion

I have a question. Why is it the buyer?s responsibility to guarantee that they get the product they purchase, like insuring the item? (UPS and FedEx default is $100 insurance per pkg)

I've read many shipping disclaimers by sellers that say they are not responsible if the product does not arrive and you have to pay extra for insurance. It's my opinion that it's 100% the seller?s responsibility to get the item to the buyer.

That's the THOUGHT but it doesn't hold up through Paypal.

Seller's are responsible for getting merch to buyer...make insurance mandatory and pass the costs onto the buyer.

No, its not. Insurance is paid for by the seller, who needs to file a claim with insurance.

Because eBay sellers usually individuals running a "business" out of their home, they don't hold themselves to the same standards that they would hold any other online merchant to.
