Buyer Beware - refurbish Athlon 64

This is funny thing that happened to me. I bought newegg refurbish 3400+, some $300+. The thing arrived and I popped it immediately in the Asus. No matter what I tried it is always recognized as 3000+. The Windows keeps on crashing so I decided to take it out. All of a sudden the top (heatsink) comes off! You know it is really hard to remove it if you want but this one comes off no problem.
Now I got it! Somebody bought 3000+ and 3400+ and then returned 3000+ with a heatsink from 3400+. Amazing. Well, it goes back to newegg by a virtue of RMA. Beware of newegg refurbished processors.

Damn.... I had my eye on one of the FX-51 refurbs... I hope that Newegg traces your RMA back to the original buyer and burns their ass....:|

No kidding... what a fraud! He did this all to save less than $150 since he likely had to pay a 15% restocking fee on his returned "3400" in addition to shipping back to Newegg.
