I just noticed everything you chose was either no brand name or generic. I would look at getting some quality pieces (PSU, HD, MoBo) etc

If you're looking for a ready-made PC, you might take a look at ABS. They have some reasonable prices and their Reseller Rating pretty good.

Oh yeah they are awesome man. My brother has one and its runs perfectly and their support is awesome. Even comes with this huge book that has everything you would need if your computer for some reason screwed up. Although it is a great computer i think it is overpriced and their options arnt that great either. THey dont even seem to have a GT avialable. They also seem about 600 bucks more expesnive for the same thing i could build...What does everyone else think of ABS PC and the system specs i have listed in this post...

The eVGA6800GT and the 3500+ both have a ETA of the 23rd so tomorrow may be my buying day!

Good luck on your system building. I personally would make the jump to socket 939 when its the right time, but right now all the parts are so rare that i just couldn't justify spending 150 on mobo and 500 on processor. Ill probably wait until the nforce 4 chipset comes out and see how the conditions are then.

Also btw, that asus board already has onboard sound. I don't know exactly what your building this rig for but the sound on that board should be sufficent for most tasks unless you want dolby surruond quality on your games.

All i have ever had has been gateways...yes i know they are bad but my parents always bought them

They dont really break down ever but they just arnt the fastests things ever....

So i am upgrading now i have a 1.6P4 and i think it is time..

I know a lot about PCs...well not as much as you folks but more then the avg person who doesnt know how to build a computer. I have built computers before, its just finding the right prices and such is so hard and then optimizing it. LIke i said before..i have built before but i dont know about making them the fastest possible with all the settings there are out there to tweak and stuff.

My bro bought a PC from. ABSPC.com and its a great system...a bit overpriced tho

So should i buy or build lol?

Check out the latest edition of PC Mag....that is the very subject covered in this issue.
Vol 23 No 11

and NewEgg by far

you can build a system by yourself for cheaper. Yes they can buy in bulk, but they also have to make a profit. A good company (for the buyers) would give you a huge selection of hardware choices with a price comparable to a system you could build yourself (if you don't buy your stuff from overpriced retailers).
