I'm thinking vista is going to suck...badly...I like to upgrade my motherboard every so often, when I do...oops gotta pay another $250 for vista. Also you cannot run 2 operating systems on 1 drive, that sucks because I like to use other OS's to play around with. Also you cannot partition 1 hard drive into 2 partitions, this really really sucks, I have my downloads/games partition, and my business partition.

This is just a couple serious problems with vista, so I'll stick with XP till they get some of this crap fixed(which they say is working as they intended...I sure hope not) Oh, and if you are even insterested in Vista, do not get vista home basic as everyone who has reviewed it was just like...isnt this just xp with more restrictions/windows spyware?

This is a good deal for people who dont switch things out very often too, so don't consider this a thread crap, just know what you are getting into.

This is the same as an OEM copy of any version of Windows. Everyone might not acknowledge this, as this is debated/discussed at least once a month in the OS forum.

It's in the advanced disk options of the setup, certainly from a scratch install anyway.

I bought the OEM version of MCE w/o any other piece of hardware. I was able to send in the info and will get the upgrade soon. Just be warned, the people working the phones don't seem to be the best trained. They mostly deal w/ system builders (ie Dell, Compaq, ...) and at first wouldn't accept my proof of purchase/receipt from Newegg. Finally got someone who was awake in training class who said that Newegg was the only exception to the system builder rule. It's right though, since you buy your own parts, you really are the system builder. :)
