Actually, it's a west of the Mississippi river thing. East of the Ol' Miss, it's known as Hardee's.

Carls Jr. is the same thing as Hardees, but it's on the west coast. the menu is slightly different, but more or less the same . they both offer 1000+ calories 50+grams of fat killer (literally) burgers.

Nearest to me around 3-4 miles. Carl's Jr. is my favorite fast food place, but I don't even go there often. Criss-cut fries, yum! Love their medium chocolate shakes (the biggest they serve, and they're big enough!). Spicy Chicken sandwich is something like $1.29, and it's my favorite. Try all three - that used to be my lunch for a while on my last full time job. Not good for the waist line, but if you do it once in a while, it's OK.

Agree on the shakes. Disagree on the size. They will put the shakes in their extra large cups and upcharge you appropriately. My god is that a massive amount of milk shake!

Just got back from Carl's Jr and the deal is a no go. I asked my order taker if they were still having the buy-one-get-one-free special, and the guy said a coupon is needed to get the deal. So it looks like this is a YMMV deal, or deal with coupon only.
