Here is the system I am planning on building.. Please suggest alternatives if you think these arent good components.. Also is amd having any major price cuts any time soon or have they already happened ?

Barton 2500+ (Retail or OEM? If OEM which Heatsink/Fan/Thermal Paste?)
Abit NF7-S or Asus A7N8x Deluxe (Not sure which one to get..)
Kingston HyperX PC3200 RAM or Buffalo PC3200 RAM 512MB (Not sure which one to get..)
Liteon 52/32/52 .. Already bought this from circuit city for $20
Maxtor 120GB 7200RPM 8MB cache (already bought this from officemax for $60)
Antec SX1080 Case /w Antec 430W PS (http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=8420)
NEC FP912 19" Monitor or some other 19" Flatscreen CRT (havent decided here but leaning towards NEC)
Dont know which vid card to get.. Maybe ill just wait 4-5 months till the price of 9800 drops and HL/Doom3 comes out
Not sure which Keyboard/Mouse to get, but this is minor

Looks like a good combo.

I would say logi MX duo for KB\Mouse, and a 9600 pro or 9700 pro for vid card depending on budget constraints.

i would just go for it because A64 isnt gonna be affordable for a while

get retail for the 3 year warranty
NF7-s is a bit better
buffalo: cheaper and does 6-2-2-2 just fine @ 200 mhz

Retail CPU (3yr warranty and a backup heatsink if you replace it)
Whichever motherboard is cheaper, but I'd lean towards the Abit (Asus has the world's worst RMAs)
Buffalo PC3200 is great stuff, can't beat it for the price
