Wow! I'm quite impressed with the rate BUY.COM's stock is decreasing(BUYX). With the rate like that they probably will have to declare Chapter 11 pretty soon. I personally would hate to see them filing bankruptsy, no more coupons and good deals after that... What do you think ?

What I think is that anybody who bought them at $30+ at beginning of year must be really really pissed off.

Looks to me like wishful thinking on your part never below around 1.5 in the last year. Also just because it was a low stock price doesn't mean it will file any time soon.

They will be delisted after Christmas. The CEO just stepped down, that's first sign of trouble. Their business model sucks and has no way to make money other than jacking up the prices. If they do that I will just shop at the computer shows and Best Buy.

I have been waiting since, get this, March to spend my $100 E*Trade cert from them. They never have items in stock and if an item is not in stock chances are it will never come in. I am waiting to spend my final $20.00 of the cert and it don't look good.

I guess I will spend my WMC prize, when it comes in, elsewhere. I was planning on spending it a buy.com but if they never ship what they promise to ship why bother?

Too bad,

I have dealt with them a few times. All postive experiences and I recommend buy.com. :(

Buy.com was hoping to keep the current customers after jacking up the prices on their goods. Apparently, they realized that no one would really stay, so they're stick to their rock bottom prices. I feel for them because I can see them becoming the next ValueAmerica (Well maybe not that bad, we didn't quite rape Buy.com like we did with ValueAmerica :))

If you use coupon code 1z6tt73, the stock is only 35 cents with FREE shipping.

Spook: I tried to order a P3-600E early this year and waited 3 months to learn they were never getting them in. Then I tried to order a P3-700E, same story. I have been waiting for a Dreamcast VMU for over a month. I don't think it's coming in.

I have ordered stuff that shipped the same day. It just seems that lately, with the type of items I am ordering, they are failing. Rule of thumb, if you buy something on "back order" or even "on order" chances are you may never see it.

The only reason people like them is the prices. There is no way they can keep such low prices and stay in business.

dwell: Must be what you are ordering, not from whom you are ordering. I've never had any problems with Buy.com having items in stock other than the one processor (Celeron II 566) that I tried to order, which never came in, and I cancelled. I've ordered hundreds of dollars of stuff from them (two routers, three or so video cards, video cable, etc., etc.), and I've not had a bad experience yet.

It would be too bad if they died. They need to get rid of the coupons so they can actually sell things for a profit (and their prices are decent without them).

I am another who would be disapointed if Buy.com went under.

I've bought several thousand dollars worth of goods from them for my company. As long as it was in stock, it would be here in one day, two days tops going plain old UPS ground. It wasn't worth my $$ to go up to next day. 50% of the time it was here the next morning anyway.

/me crosses fingers...

I've never had any problems with Buy.com... hope they don't go under at all. How likely are they to go under? What's their current situation? Besides the stepping down of the CEO. I'm sitting out for the next $30 off coupon before I make a purchase (TDK Velocd). Hope they'll be around for along time... or should I grab the TDK Velocd while they are still around?

Trust me, if you post this in Hot deals, someone will ask if it belongs in OT. Until they file for bankruptcy, it isn't really news to them. Its well suited here

How'd you get 95 cents from that? Must be fuzzy math:). Would have been sweet to short this mofo at its peak.

If they can't get the stock price back up soon (over a dollar), the Nasdaq will give them das boot. They were recently downgraded by some pos analyst (they all are btw). I just bought an Asante router from them with the $30.00 off coupon and regular ground shipping last Tuesday. When the package arrived on Friday, it was this really big box that didn't weigh much. I opened it up and inside, instead of a router, it's a freaking $15.00 nic. WTF???? So I call up cs, tell him about the goobs they have in the warehouse sending me a nic, and they offer to cross ship out another router and give me another $10.00 off. They e-mail me a prepaid shipping label for the nic. I mail the nic back on Sat. and I got the router on Tuesday. Now that's pretty damn good service in book. I have never had a problem with Buy.com in the last three years of buying stuff from them. But just like AMZN, you can't sell dollars for .80 cents and stay in business very long. I hate to see them go.

buy.com uses ingram micro as their order fullfillment house, same as onvia. If they screw up shipping it was probably ingram's fault
