Last March I tried to buy a graphics card from Buy.com. I entered my info, including CC, and they were out of stock. I cancelled my order, but I was still charged. A quick phone call refunded my money, and to be honest they had great customer service. It was very no-questions-asked. Now, in January, I see a $7 charge on my CC, from "Reservation Rewards." A quick Google turns up the words "Scam" and "Fraud." I gave them call. I told them I never authorized any payment plan, and I never signed up for anything that might cost me any money. I never even went through with my order. The lady (who was very nice), said she would cancel my subscription to prevent further charges. I said yes, and please refund my $7. She said ok. I said, "Have there been any other charges?" Turns out I have been charged $7 a month for 11 months because I did not "cancel my free trail of Reservation Rewards after one month." I said, "Kindly refund that $70, too." She said she will, I'll post when it happens. Just a word of warning, if you are like me and don't read all the micro-print (*I know, I should start), watch out for this "promotion" and if you've ever bought anything from Buy.com, check you're bank statement for "Reservation Rewards." If so, you could get some money back. This may be old news to hard-core HotDealers, but just in case someone searches Anandtech for this, here ya go.
