battery is MUCH MUCH MUCH better than its predecessor, MS claims it can last half a year / 6 months. I bought my Night Vision mouse in June and now its september and still over 75% battery life. So looks like they didnt lie for once.

The previous one battery life dies out in a month or so, I brought it to use at work now, where i get free batteries...

other than that, its wireless, lag time is expected but hardly noticeable and wake up time is minimal. if you're for gaming, this should be fine unless your like a pro-gamer, in which case get a corded logitech laser mouse, you cheapo. 🙂

Thanks 🙂

OTOH, wtf?

it's okay, someone made a hack to get around the automatic activation. just do a p2p search on Kazaa or something for the hack. all you have to do is download and install a corporate serial number and you're set for life 🙂

watch out tho, it will melt when you install sp2!

i hear microsoft is getting out of hardware .... this true?

I certainly hope not. while Windows and their other software is somewhat, ah, iffy, I really do love their hardware. I've owned a Microsoft wireless ergonomic keyboard and a Microsoft 802.11b PCMCIA card, both of which have worked superbly. I mean it, their hardware is on my favorites list.

Logitech all the way for mice however 🙂

I ordered two of them (home & work).

Now, to return the Logitech Mx700 to amazon.

Pain in the a**, as I keep forgetting to put it in the charger overnight.

I would rather have batteries like this one...........

Real nice. Go to the default home page and I get:

"Provider error '80004005'

Unspecified error

/Default.asp, line 92"

Maybe their "Deal of the Day" should include some ASP programmers...

Target are clearancing the MS Wireless Optical Desktop 2.0 for $38.98. There is a $20 MIR floating about which leaves it under $20 for a wireless mouse PLUS a wireless keyboard. The mouse looks very similar to the Wireless Intellimouse Explorer.

How exactly do you find them at Target? Are clearance computer items in computers/electronics or on one of the end-of-the-aisle displays?

Usually on the end-caps.

fyi in the wireless optical desktop 2.0 package, the mouse is not a wireless intellimouse explorer. i believe it is only a 3 button/tiltwheel scroll mouse they call that the wireless optical mouse.

nevertheless still good if you can get for 20 bucks

My closest Target is like 20 minutes away. Has anyone ever had any luck calling and asking? Or is that bad 'cause the employees will snatch 'em up?

My Mx700 goes maybe two weeks on a single charge. I've never had any problems with keeping it fully charged...
