I placed a order the other day at Buy.com. About a hour later I cancelled it and placed a new order. They had already charged my PayPal account but will not refund it back for the 1st order. I talked to some lady at Buy.com that kept wanting the transaction ID number from PayPal. I had it in front of me and she would not take it. Kept telling me to call PayPal first.

I filed a dispute with PayPal on the charge. We will see what happens.

Won't purchase from Buy.com again.

Original order was for $65. Second order ws for $29. No charge for cancelling order. The lady I talked to on the phone would not even try to help me. I gave her the order number that I cancelled and she kept saying it was cancelled due to non payment. She the ask for the paypal transaction id number (which I had) but would not take it. Wanted me to call P ayPal and get it when I already had it.

whats wrong with using a credit card?

I avoid using paypal whenever possible

I use PayPal because I sell on Ebay and have a balance in my account. Otherwise I us CC.

If they have this kind of service with everyone they will start missing use sooner or later. Poor customer service can kill a business, no mater how good the price is.

if it was linked to a CC call the credit card company and state that there's a fraudulant charge on your account

Buy.com is a POS company, I've been involved with a disputed CC charge because of their ignorance. :) Stay away!

Did you ask for a manager? Did you ask them to explain their policy on cancelled orders that have not shipped but have been charged? Did you point out that they currently have your money but barely could have had time for the order to get sent to the warehouse?

Still no joy from Buy.com. Now they tell me they sent the complaint to their corp office and will take 7-10 days to get a response. I asked for a super and they said none avalible. Ask to have them call me back and got the reply "I can't do that."

LOL

Live and learn.

It takes them a day or two to refund your PayPal. They did it for me no problems.

Finally got a refund. Buy.com never replied to me. PayPal dispute ended in my favor and they pulled the money back out of Buy.com and refunded to me.

Straight from paypal website.

Reason for Dispute: Non-receipt

Buyer's Comments: This was a online order that was cancelled by me. My paypal account was charged but not refunded when cancelled. I talked to buy.com and the kept telling me to get a transaction ID number from paypal but would not take it when I tried to give it to them.

Date of Complaint: Oct. 28, 2005

Status: Case Closed

Status Details: We have granted this claim. The seller did not respond to this case by the required deadline.You have received a refund of $65.52 USD for this claim. Any portion of your original payment that was funded with credit has been refunded directly to that credit line. Please allow 3 days for the refund to appear in your balance.


It took time but PayPal finally got my money back.

Buy.com had a deal on a gigabit switch a while ago... they ran out the switches so they were on backorder. After a month of being on backorder they just cancelled the order without saying anything... and then opened a NEW order for the same switch at a HIGHER price. They then refused to cancel the order because it was past some time limit or some ****** like that. Basically buy.com is teh suck.

I find nothing wrong with someone having a problem with a retailers crappy customer service, it happens everyday.
