Central Scutinizer,

I can trade my Epox 6VBA Via133A Slot1 board for your MSI Athron board.

LMK if you are interested.

I received mine today (well, at this point yesterday meaning Wednesday). Having already gotten an MSI-6905 Master, I am ready to throw it into the mobo. However, since the mobo right now is an Intel CC820 (poor me) I am not doing anything to this board! The VC820 replacement should be here by the end of the week at which point I can play.

I read on the intel support site a post by an individual who has this same Celeron, the MCI-Master and the vc820. Apparently he simply set the FSB to 100 on the MSI and is getting 850-ish mhz out of this chip with the regular heatsink/fan.

We shall see soon enough!

Insomniac: The VC820 itself has no inherent overclocking abilities, but the MSI-6905Master (v2.2) should allow me to trick the mobo into thinking I have a coppermine 100FSB chip. We shall see. The mobo arrived this morning and with any luck, I may get to play with it this afternoon.

Cheers!

I sold my vc820 because 1. I can't add memory at the present prices.
2.no overclocking ability on it. 3.with the money I can buy a BX Dma66
133fsb board and probably a P III celly too and more memory. (got $370 for it).anyway, I ordered a celly 566 still says sent to warehouse, but buycomp usually emails me that my order shipped after I already got it(kind of backwards huh). I hope it comes soon so I can try my first overclocking adventure. With one of my systems now running
a P III 450 on an MSI 6163.

Central Scutinizer, Buy.com did the same thing to me. Sent me the MSI-6195 Athlon board instead of the 6163 BX-board. I'll probably return it for the BX board, but I have been thinking about an Athlon/AMD system.

raised the price....

Don't you all know? They have a habit of raising prices for free shipping weekends.

Good thing it's only $2.00

Big Al-
Talked to buy.com this morning, and they offered to send me a label to return the 6195, and then they would send me the 6163PRO. I said I couldn't wait that long. The rep. talked to a supervisor, and she said they would send me the 6163 out today. But they also said it would show up in my account, and I would get an e-mail, neither of which has happened. I hope they are not looking too close at the coupon I used on the order.

I let you know what happens. I might go with the Athlon, too, but $56 for the Celeron (at 850) vs. $190 for a Athlon 700 cpu is hard to beat.

Ordered mine on Sunday, UPS delivers it to the wrong building where someone signed for it. Last time this happened to me it only took 15-20 days to work it all out. UPS IS SUCK!!!

Central Scutinizer, if they charge you, I would be curious to know what amount it is for. If they just recharge the same amount again ($45), I would take the boards and run.
