Thanks! It was time they should run a promotions like this. ;) Yeah, and don't forget to add the $10 off $30 (new customers) coupon, if it will still be good by the 26'th :)

You have to admit even without coupons that their prices on computer parts are some of the lowest around... coupons are stiff lately except for staples. Buy.com is great.. support them so they stay in business as i hear their having some trouble. I'll be sure to order some things during free shipping even without the coupons as they have done great for me over the past.

Thanx for the heads up.

However, I must admit, I miss the dayz where buyx would have free shipping on ALL items.

It rocked for single-DVD purchases.

Either way, I still hope they stay in business.

I know, I especially miss those $30 off $150. I used those to pre-order a stack of DVDs. I don't know where to pre-order them now!!

By the way, for those of you in the northeast: I'm in Washington DC, and Buy.com recently expanded its Virginia shipping facility. Every order I place with ground shipping gets to me THE NEXT DAY! I ordered a CD Writer two days ago at 4:30, and it arrived at 11 a.m. the next day. (And shipping was only $6.95).

Just a note to say that if you live in the area, don't pay for upgraded shipping!

Buy.com put an end to those $30 off $150 coupons.

As profitability holds the ultimate key to the endurance and viability of buy.com, we have decided upon some adjustments. We have implemented a process to authenticate the coupons that are being redeemed.
Any orders containing 'invalid coupons', in other words, coupons that are abused, will receive a zero percent commission on the entire order. In effect as of Feb. 2001

This only applies to affliates like Tekbargain and Phat Wallet that would post the coupon codes. So if Tek and Phat can't make money why would they post 'em. My two cents.

Buy.com has always had reasonable shipping rates. As for waiting for coupons to by buy anything, I think their prices have always been good, even without coupons. Try comparison shopping for DVDs. Chances are Buy.com will be the cheapest.

Buy.com stock is less than fifty cents, they could go under anyday. It was over thirty
a year ago, the buy.com golf tour seems to be faltering. I have got some good deals
there, do not want to see them go under.

I agree on the low prices. buy.com REGULARLY has the lowest available price on most items I'm looking for, when you figure in shipping. Granted, "low price" doesn't mean what it used to mean, which was maybe 25% below a Best Buy price. Now you're saving a few bucks. But as long as they keep a large selection and ship things promptly, I'll keep shopping with them.

The $100 order min and 20 lb max restrictions pretty much means that I still won't be using Buy.com in the near future.

They used to have a lot of 20 off 20.. and 10 off 10s during with their free shipping weekends.. You could easily get $25 worth of stuff with a webcert :) Those were the days..

I like buy.com for the same reason many of you guys do. The have good prices, fair shipping, and good service. I also like my $30 coupons. One way we can help them survive is to go to their site (linked) and clicked on a bunch of their ads. That way they get some commision, and I'm sure we'll start seeing more coupons.

I don't know...I'll take a wild stab that at least 10K members comb through these threads every day, so if everyone just go to buy.com, they will get 10K hits a day x 30 days in a month = 300K additional hits a month. If evereyone agress to go there 3 times a day, they get around a million additional hits a month, which should make them more attractive to advertisers, so they can get more per click. As of now, I'm sure they are getting no more than $0.01 dollars a click. If each of us go there and click on 3 ads a day, that's at least 10K a month extra income for them..not much, but since I have high speed dsl, I click on their ads some 50 times a day to compensate for some of you slackers :)

I agree with you guys. Buy.com is one of those stores that is NOT "is suck". I have bought a lot of stuff from them in the past. Too bad, people screwed em over so many times in the past..

Montyburns,

Thanks for the info about their VA warehouse. Was the expansion recently? The last time I ordered some UPSes from them (and saved over $100 due to the free shipping), they came from PA. Anyway, I sure hope they don't go under anytime soon, or ever.
