I haven't been up on my scsi hard drives lately but this seems like a good deal at $270 after coupon. Anyone concur?

IBM 36.4 GB SCSI Hard Drive

I'm bummed- I cancelled my netvista order with buy but it won't let me use the coupon "again." I say again because I didn't use it, with my order being cancelled and all. Is there any way to reactivate this coupon?

SCA is a type of SCSI interface.. it combines the data transfer, power and SCSI ID into one set of pins, which makes it much easier to hot swap drives. You can however use a SCA --> [Your SCSI Here] converter, just make sure that the converter you buy can handle your type of SCSI; for example, don't buy a Adapter that can only do wide if you run LVD. Just so everyone knows this is the cheapest price (~$300) that you can find for the 18.2 Gig version of this drive, and this drive (36.4 gigs) starts around $445, and that is from a not-so-reputable dealer.

Not only is this drive 7200rpm (not 10k or 15k, both of which
are available and desirable with SCSI), but it's half height.
No one wants half height 7200rpm SCSI drives anymore, which is why
these are being closed out.

The SCA interface, as noted, consists of one set of pins for use
in a hot swap configuration. Converters are available for around
$15 that will allow you to use a SCA drive with a standard 68
or 50 pin vable.

However, IMHO, this is not a hot deal and there's no reason
to worry about how to do the conversion. If it were a 10K drive,
it would be a very good deal. If it were 10K and 1/3 height (1"
high) it would be blazing hot. But as is...not so hot...

I would expect them to be closing out the 36LZX models sometime soon as the 72LZX are coming to replace them. :) for me if this happens.
