I know that you did this with only good motives, but that's not a "hot deal." And to add on to it, anybody who posts a Deal of the Day (DOTD) from buy.com is not even putting a drop of effort into it. All DOTDs should be locked, as goes for the stupid "hot deals" like "voting." Geez, this forum is rapidly becoming an off-topic, place your bullsh*t here forum. I think many people would agree. Just my two cents.

I completely agree. There has been a mad dash lately to be the first one to post Buy.com's DOTD, whether or not it's really a deal. The guys couldn't ask for better free advertising.

If you're not willing to at least tell us what the same item sells for someplace else (a standard feature of any hot deal), there's no way for us to know if it really is a hot deal. And if you haven't done that work, all you've done is point out something on a public Web page that we all have access to (and, at this point, are very familiar with checking.)

Yes, this DOTD sucks... but any DOTD that is hot or even warm should be and is completely normal to post in this forum. I don't stay up to 3 am every night like some people just to see the DOTD. When I check this forum it is good to see what the DOTD is and if it is hot to me without going to buy.com site every day (which I ussually almost do anyhow... spending way too much there :() I forget about the DOTD most of the time and there has been times where the posting here has gotten me a good or even decent deal on stuff I needed... let's not cry. I see a lot of stupid things in this forum that I cannot imagine anyone buying... but I just don't click on them.. so don't click on the threads that have DOTD! I don't think that will ruin your life.

I, too, agree people are too sensitive about things being off topic. I think we should be able to post whatever we want. We're adults.

However, I am going to gripe... :) You can't read this thread and have any idea of it's a hot deal. All the person did was copy and paste the info from Buy.com. No comparison to another site (no price even in the thread title). What does that really tell you? It tells you about something that is for sale at Buy.com, but Amazon.com has featured products every day and if people started listing those there would be tons of complaints.

I'm just saying that the DOTD hysteria has got people staying up all night so they can be the first to post a deal. If you want to do that, that's fine (hey, I appreciate it). But do 2 mins of extra work and figure out whether it's actually a DEAL, or just an item for sale at Buy.com.

You know by b*tchin and complaining about this thread you are keeping it up top, exactly what you are complaining about. If you don't like this deal or any other let it die off.

Just remember if you b*tch out the "Ananduser" for posting a not so hot deal, when he finds that trullly hot Athlon 1.2 gig chip for $50 he will not post it, for fear that he might be b*thed at again. So if you dont like it dont cry like a 2 year old just move on!

If you use a 30 off 150 coupon this item is only $152.47 wouldn't you say that was at least a warm deal?

Chill out. We're just debating something. Nothing wrong with that. Just like I think it's fine for people to post messages in the Hot Deals forum that don't contain hot deals, I think it's fine for people to comment on those posts.

Even you.

Again I will say it

If you use a 30 off 150 coupon this item is only $152.47 wouldn't you say that was at least a warm deal?

That is what this thread is about, not "wyyyaaa i am gona go cry to my mommy"

Stop the cryin!

Guys, have any of you even bothered to check the normal prices on a 13" TV/VCR combo? They start at $250 and go up to $400. This isn't that bad of a deal! Yeah you can get a separate TV and VCR but that isn't nearly as portable. :)

I think this is a warm deal. Quality 13" TVs go from $100 to $300. An added VCR could be up to $100. Plus, as someone mentioned, you have added portability. Still, if you are not interested in this deal, here is my advice to you: Just don't buy it.

This way too expensive. I bought one of those GE 13" combo from the clearance section about 6 months ago for about $90 bux and I am still using it. No problemo. I definitely won't pay $190 for this.

I wanna know if there are 2 tuners on the JVC combo, in other words can I record from a different channel with the vcr tuner while watching a station on the tv tuner. That shortcoming has always kept me from getting one for my bedroom.

Anyone know about this particular model?
