Best Deal on FRS radios: Amazon.com $32 plus shipping for 2 after mail in rebate. All the features of the Motorola plus scanning. Go to Amazon and search for Vtech FRS.

I think this has been the worst DOD week in history. Lowpoint: the Colleen McCollough book. I feel bad for those of you on the east coast-- having to stay/wake up for cr@p like this...

4ASearch Vtech makes more wireless phones than anyone on the planet, including all the 900mhz phones for Sony and Toshiba. That said, these $16 wonders sure are ugly. The reports indicate they work great and they have more features than the FR60.

I love the Motorola products but this is not a "hot" deal. This model is an older model with limited features.

I would expect them to stick in a non-hot-deal every once in a while to make people think that it is a hot deal and order it.

I'm afraid you may be mistaken. The FR50 is the older model, that does not have security codes. The FR60 is the newer model and has the security codes. $79 beats most B&M stores by $15.

My 2 cents worth.

The Fr60s and Fr50s are nice pieces of equipment... I bought 2 of each a while back to try them out... very small, very nice, and I personally received good reception. The size and style of the units is very nice, but the difference between the fr50 and fr60 units is negligable.. the security codes don't me jack... its not a secret channel that no one can hear, but rather you dodn't hear anything else on the channel until someone with that code sends you a message. This, of course, is useless (imho) because you can just change channels between the 14 available. just my two cents..
We ended up returning them because we thought we could get them cheaper on the net. but then i realised we live in canada, so now we're waiting for them to go on sale again. heh

I already ordered or I would have done the staples PM. However I wsa able to use the 10 off 75 coupon at buy.com bringing my total down to 69.99. Still not as good as 403's deal...but it is the MOST you should pay for this one.

Free shipping is always sweet too (both buy.com and staples)
