I have been using the Nostromo N52 for Lineage II. It helps to overcome the limitations of the UI by allowing me to map the hotkeys to more comfortable layout. The macro functions are great if you want to do a series of hotkeys. The keys can seem a bit stiff if you use them for WASD movement but they are perfectly fine for most MMOs and RTSs. There is a shift key that can cycle through red, green, blue configurations such that each configuration results in a different key mapping. There are also red green and blue leds that light up on the thumb pad to show you which configuration you are using (default is off for all three).
There are some potential flaws in the design. The red button above the D-pad is awkward to press. If you have small hands or a short thumb, you will not be able to comfortably reach the farthest directions on the D-pad. The D-pad is also very stiff so don't expect to be able to use it like a real d-pad on dedicated gamepad controller. The palm rest is removable and adjustable. But the keys are arranged such that the bottom row of keys lie on a different angle than the rest of the keys (and there are only 4 of them), which makes them hard to press accurately. The mouse wheel that lies near the forefinger is hard to reach since it is placed almost at the base of the finger. Scrolling with the wheel does not feel smooth. However, you can easily tell how many times you have scrolled by the clicking sound it makes whenever you scroll by 1 unit.
