"Buy an SUV and you support terrorism" **UPDATE** 3 new Automobile Mag letters bash SUV bashers! :-)

Then GWB would be supporting terrorism, unless Marine One, Air Force One, and the presidential convo of limos and tricked out Suburbans that get <10 MPG use exclusively U.S. oil and their byproducts, piped straight in from Alaska. Unless they actually do that...hmm...

heh...reminds me of something a friend of mine sent me in an email today. He wants to start a rumor that all of those offshore programming companies sponsor terrorism...along with H-1B visa holders. He and I are both having difficulty finding work in the last few months. And, in my case, at least one job was filled by someone with an H-1B over me. :disgust:

Lol.. in the article it states a lady traded in her navigator for a prius.

Last I checked, the prius still used gas.. Does that make her less of a terrorist since she uses less fuel?

lol

Some people are dense.

Well she is now sending less money to the Arab nations where people hate us and want to destroy us (including many Saudis) so there is some truth to it.

So are the 900,000 Ford F-Series trucks, 850,000 GMC Sierras/Chevy Silverados, 450,000 Dodge Rams, and 106,000 Toyota Tundras supporting terrorism too????? Their gas mileage is hardly any better. The heavy duty versions of those vehicles suck up so much gas that they don't even have to report their fuel economy to the EPA.

They just love to bash SUV's b/c it's hip to bash 'em.

And if that woman were so worried about supporting terrorism, she wouldn't be driving a gas powered vehicle at all. She'd be driving a GM EV1 electric car...hypocritical biatch.

And Ford/GM/etc. are terrorist sponsors for even SELLING their vehicles in the mid-east

Didnt bother to read the article through, but if it says that

Burning large amounts of fossil fuels supports Middle East economies

and

SUV's burn large amounts of fuel

and

those economies who provide the fuel support terrorism, or their economy allows support to happen,

then what would be the logical conclusion?

Heck, i support terroism, i sit around and use my computer all day long, which some company has to provide, meaning it had to be bulit, meaning lots of dumptrucks were used, those use fuel(though deisel) and then all the company guys that drive their huge trucks.......i ALMOST feel guilty....alot of this stuff is BS

if electric cars were "better" i'd be all there

Pickups don't burn a lot of fuel? They are the MOST sold vehicles in the country. The Ford F-Series truck is the BEST selling vehicle in the WORLD, best selling vehicle in America for the past TWENTY years.

Most Oil in the US is from Mexico, Alaska, And other US States. The US does not Import that much oil from the Gulf. It is Europe and Japan who get most of the oil from the Gulf.

yep, she should bash those too, though pickups are more likely to be used for something more useful to its design than simply commuiting 50 miles every day.

So the F series is guiltier than SUVs.

Ok here it is. We have a bazillion threads about Iraq. Why? Why not Chad or wherever? Because of oil. Not UN sanction, not WMD, oil. Why? Because of the Middle East did not have the industrial world by the balls, none of what is happing in the Middle East would be relevant. Terrorists would not exist at least in a world threatening way, because there would never have been the funding to support it. We did not want to learn this lesson during the oil embargo so many years ago and it seems we do not want to now. Imagine if the amount of financial and human resourses spent on military action against Iraq was devoted to making the US energy independent? Never happen, but if it had between the Carter years and now, and done with the goal of achieving results, we would not have SUV or Iraq threads right now.

My gas milege does not support terror. It supports me wanting to take over the middle east so I may have cheap oil.

Also, the best selling SUV in America gets 15/21 city/highway. The Dodge Caravan (best selling minivan) gets 18/25.

Are they REALLY busting our balls over a few MPG?

whatever my roomates IS300 gets the SAME gas milage as V8 4x4 Explorer does. with that kind of stupid logic everyone would be driving hybrid civics

So your roomate supports terrorism too, look at hayabusa's posts to see the logic.
I do agree that the title is selective though, as buying any gas supports terrorism
