Buy an external hard drive or convert an internal with an enclosure?

I'm thinking about either turning my WD120SE hard drive into an external drive with a Firewire/USB2 enclosure or selling it and buying a external hard drive. Which would be better? The external enclosures aren't that inexpensive ($70-$80 is what I've seen) and the new external hard drives are really coming down in price.

What would you do and why?

Also, does anyone have any recommendations for an external drive case if I do go that route?

TIA,

Sal

By then Enclosure, then you can swap out HD's and if you get a 5 1/4 one then you can even go with Opticals. I use USB/Firewire ADS together which is solid and a cheap Generic which does fine as well. Best of both worlds :)

Thanks! How quick is it to change out drives in the external enclosure? I was thinking about buying an enclosure and alternating between a DVD burner and a hard drive.

Thanks again.
