Buy a PS2 and FFXII when wii comes out in 19 days?

I am a huge RPG fan..my dilemma is..should I get a PS2 system and FFXII 19 days before I get my wii?

is it worth the price of the system and game?

opinions....

cliffs: I am getting a wii in 19 days (already paid for), should I drop $150 on a ps2 and FFXII game just to play it?

is ffxii the only game you want for the ps2? if so, i'd say don't do it unless you can spare the money. if you decide to get one, buy a used one off ebay or something.

Why dont you already have a PS2? What does the Wii matter if you want to play a PS2 game?

I updated the thread.. I am def getting a wii, I am just wondering if it will be worth it to get a ps2 (old ..semi outdated) and FFXII (supposed to be awesome)..

my basic question is one game (FFXII) worth $150

I wouldn't buy a new PS2. I think people will start to put their PS2 up for sale in FS/T after they get their PS3.

also, the reason I asked the question is, because if I spent $150 on this, it would take away $150 from the Wii games I could buy.

I'd just wait it out if I were you. The game will be the same game in a few months when PS2s are cheaper (you should just buy a used PS2 anyway) and you can pick up the game used.

Oh, I see you're factoring $150 as the system and the game, nevermind that bit.

Pick up a PS2 several months down the road. FFXII will be cheaper by then (and you can catch up on some other PS2 exclusives for cheap).

Besides, what I'm hearing today about FFXII is making me wait (my old PS2 died when we finished DQ8, so I gotta buy a new one, and am in relatively in the same situation as you are).
