Buy a 5830 or wait for Fermi?

but wanted an upgrade for mw2, world of diff for me as i play 1920x1200

i have basically the same system as you except an ip35-nonpro. currently have 8800gts 320mb. what vid card did you upgrade to?

I hadn't even heard about the HD5830 till now. Awesome, a card with HD4890-like performance for less than an HD4890 (so less than $200?). If the release is followed up with some rebates, maybe we'll see it for $170 even?

Wait for the reviews, but on paper the 5830 is awesome.

AMD is smart. Suckers like me bought a 5850 when all I really need is a 5830.

Nvidia have no answer to the 5830 by the way. Their cards are all high end expensive models. At least initially.
