i can open my button fly faster than a zipper fly. you just suck.

yes, undo the top button, then pull. the rest come open.

do you want to get your junk caught in a zipper or not?

Just grab the first button and pull the fly apart. Comes undone. In many ways it's faster than a zipper. Just one step.

Yeah, you have to do the waist button first...once they get broken in you can just do the first button and pull apart and they all come unbuttoned.

But you have to undo your entire pair of pants to piss.. which includes unfastening your belt.. isn't that way more of a pain in the ass than just pulling one zipper down?

Hmm...maybe the full break in period is the key. I still have trouble believing that it could be faster.

They're all talking about undoing the waist button first, something I see as completely unneccesary.

o_O you dont? sounds like you're trying to get caught in the zipper. i mean, if i left the top button closed i'd feel like i had no room to work with lol. u just undo and kinda hold them, along with the underwear, with a hand. not that big a deal.

WTF.. I guess I'm in the minority here.... you guys remind of me that kid from elementary school who pulls his entire pants down just to piss, the zipper is there for a reason, so you don't have to undo everything to get your junk out of the hole.. and there's MORE than enough room even if you're Peter North to get it out.

After the pants are undone, you just pull the band of your underwear down instead of fishing around in your fly for the hole in your tighty-whities, hoping to hook on to your junk.

I do, and it takes no time to undo all the buttons if you want.. About as fast as a zipper, but can actually be faster if the zipper is difficult.

It takes a bit longer to button up, but really.. if it takes you any longer than 5 seconds to button up a pair of 501's, you've got issues.

Edit: I had to change it to 5 seconds. 10 is way too long, two seconds per button? Maybe if you're two.

I have a pair of button fly jeans, and I only use one button. They are stiff enough that it works just as well as using all the buttons.

Shens on all the people that claim to be able to open multiple buttons NEARLY as fast as a single motion for a zipper. Look, if you prefer the style, that's totally cool, but *don't* pretend they're easier / faster when they clearly aren't. It's silly and you're being dishonest with yourself.

I'm not a fan of the button fly, but it seems like 90% of the jeans that I like and fit well are button fly. So I deal with it, but I do feel strange at the urinal undoing the belt and pants.

Really depends on the jeans. I have a pair with 3 buttons and they are pretty quick to open. Perhaps not as fast as zippers, but when they are closed they also look better (the buttons hold the upper flap of the fold together more uniform).

And what I mean by it depends on the jeans is that some jeans have really tight buttons that are mission impossible and some have really easy buttons. Usually it is a quality thing.

all you do to open a button fly is a single motion. you don't open the buttons individually. so, yes, it is faster than a zipper.

I can't say I've ever considered *not* undoing the top button when taking a leak. I've got a couple pairs of cargo shorts that I can unzip the fly and get away with it, but when it comes to jeans I would just find it awkward trying to fish my junk through just the zipper(or button in this case) hole.

I was just thinking about "that kid" in grade school. There's always one of them in every school across America.

Anyway, I've never ever gotten my "junk" stuck in a zipper, so suit yourselves with your halfassed buttons.

its true though.

once they are broke in all you have to do is open the top and yank. they all come undone. doing them back up is slower then zippers (well unless you get a crappy zipper) but not much slower.

we have no reason to lie about it. its not that big of a deal.

yeah same here. then trying to get it through the hole of my underwear and the jeans. most times by the time i get it out i have taken longer if i just undo the jeans and pull out the top.
