Au contraire, it's actually very cool. I have one. In HL2, driving that jet boat felt like I was actually driving it. I mostly use it for BF2142. Feels like you are actually there when those artillery strikes come in.

That's like saying the subwoofer is the most ridiculous invention ever invented. This is supposed to complement the rest of your speaker setup, and comes in handy for low-volume situations where you want to feel plenty of bass. Everything I've ever read about them indicates that people generally love it.

This one you attach to your computer chair, The other you bolt down to your couch. This has been around for a LONG time. They just made a cheap version of it for gamers.

I got lucky with the HT version, I got it on clearance at BBY for $10. I like mine alot, its easy to turn it up way to high and then it will overpower the rest of your system. Not in a way that you will hear it, but it can get annoying if turned up too far. Overall though, if you're into a full home theater/surround sound gaming experience, def worth the 60 bucks.
