butterfly effect 2

oops.. enter was pushed too early... damn b beverages

i haven't seen it yet, although im about to watch it soon

anyone seen it? seen the original? any comparisons? i don't think butterfly effect can be beat, as ashton kutcher was awesome in the first one, so a sequel just couldn't beat it.

either way, anyone think the sequel works?

You mean this?

I didn't even realize there was a second one, although the direct to video probably had something to do with that.

That's too bad, because I really liked the first one. I'll probably give it a watch anyway though. I remember I avoided watching the first one for a year and a half after its release because it only got like 40% on RT. I was pleasantly surprised.

I watched the Director's version of Butterfly Effect first and I liked it a lot better than the Theatrical version. That being said, I highly doubt I will see the sequel. Sequels are crap by nature and direct to DVD means it's only worse...

as many have stated, direct to dvd movies are bad. direct to dvd sequels are worse. i ain't gonnat watch it. esepcially after the first one was so good and it also got some rather medicore reviews.

WTH you loved the first one and you just not going to watch the second one? Ok.. I love sex, but the first time was good enough why ruin it with another go around?

I'll watch it.

What is the difference in the Butterfly Effect Theatrical Version and Director's version?
No Spoliers please.

Yes, because a physical act that is instinct/hormone driven can be compared to watching a sequel that wouldn't have had much of a shot to begin with but is so bad it doesn't even hit theaters.

It's like test driving an H1 and then seeing a used H3 with 100k miles and going, i bet that'll be just as fun.

Completely different ending.

So which one should I watch?

You can watch both if you really want to. But I think the ending in the director's version is better.

direct to video sequel that couldn't even get the star. thats just a failed project there.

Yeah he must of been to busy getting paid big bucks to play a deer in a kids cartoon and too good to have to play in a sequel to a movie that kicked ass.

What a waste, could of done both imo. Cartoon you go into some booth, un shaven, smelly from parting the night before, say a few lines make bank in a short time for a few hours a day. Then hop on over and do some movie shooting. Make twice the paycheck and blow one of them on your island off in the Figi's.

The only thing good a bout direct to video sequels is the total cheese factor that they all have. They're good for a laugh, but you're inevitably going to dislike them for ruining something that you liked the first time around.

I mean, Starship Troopers was a good movie simply for the fact that it starts out like Beverly Hills 90210 in the future, then it's all war movie esque. It's cheesy all around but still somewhat entertaining to watch if you're in the mood. Starship Troopers 2 is just cheese all around with a horrible b-movie half pr0n subplot to it.

I'm going to disagree and say the ending of the theatrical is better. I just don't think the directors cut tells the right story to people.

I watched both the theatrical version and the director's cut and I'm getting them mixed up. Which one was it that he used his powers to get control of the US?

apples to oranges

real sex vs. masturbation

Who like the first Hallowman or Starship Troopers? They both had direct to DVD sequels come out...utter crap. 3rd time is NOT a charm.
