Busting Dust

:disgust:

Every time I go into my PC case (every few months), it's full of dust... the heat syncs are clogged w/ them, in the corners, etc. etc. I typically get some compressed air and blow it all out and also use a dust-buster vacuum to suck it out once it's airborn.

Any other solutions or good ideas for combatting dust, removing it, or preventing it in the first place...

1- The room is full of dust
2- The case has lots of fans blowing in, but not much blowing out.

Well #1 is most likely true. Pretty sure #2 most are going out - at least I thought they were.. isn't that standard?

Clean your case/system at least once a month if not more often. Weekly is best.
Clean your room more often. Dusting and vaccuuming does wonders.
Get one of those air purifiers that cleans the air in the room.
There are small mini-vacs that are made specifically for PCs.
Along with compressed air and mini-vacs use q-tips and toothpicks to help remove dust/gunk buildup from fans and hard to get to areas (fans, corners, heatsinks).

Hi, Cooling is best done by moving the cooler room air through the case. Set your fans about half blowing in and the rest blowing out. PSU fan blows out. Doesn't seem to make much difference about leaving dust. Dust comes from the room air. Luck, Jim
