I saw this today also my BB had one left (Lite-On) but I went in to price match my Vebatim 52x24x52 (lite-On) I bought yesterday (Thanks for the heads up) for the pricematch and rebate slips for $20 after rebate. Now I'm thinking maybe I should go back and get it and return the Verbatim and deal with the rebates for and extra $10. BUT can this be better:

Staples has it for $69 plus a $20 rebate. How do you think they would price match it?? Reading their policy it looks like they would take the rebate off first because BB doesn't have a rebate so 69-20=49 with a price match of 22 making it $27 after rebate?? If they just matched the $29 price making it $9 after rebate that would be burning HOT. What's the experiences with Staples price match??

the best buy actually has both a compusa and CC near it. I was deciding between the Verbatim with a chance of a Lite-on, and the Buslink sure shot lite-on. and i chose the buslink. plus with no rebate hassle. again, the BB deal is no rebate deal, so i guess you can PM it, and get it for almost free. If there are any links to rebates hook it up, itll be nice to get a lite-on 52x for under 10 bucks ^_^

They must be doing a competative PM against CC who has this burner for $29.99 after rebates. Argh, my BB is closed now. I wonder if they will leave it at that price for tommorrow. They usually only do this for Sunday.

Be sure you get the one that has the SmartBurn sticker (Lite-on) and not JustLink (Aopen).

Hopeing to get in on this tomorrow. I personally am not a big fan of rebates, especially when they are more than one per item.
Could someone who got in on this, scan their receipt and post a link to it? Thanks.

I have the Buslink RW5252 and mine is not a Lite-on - it uses Justlink.

 I can't seem to get any link to the RW-5292 on the BB site. However, the Microcenter here in Houston has an I/O CDRW52x for $79.99-$10IR-$20MIR-$20MIR for your $29.99. Tried to find a lower PM in town but nothing for the moment. Rebates end 4/27 so there is still time.

Do the Buslink drives just use Lite-on's firmware or their own?? I've got a Verbatim that's a Lite-on (not even rebaged) that I got for $20 AR but I'm thinking about returning it tomorrow for a Buslink so I don't have to deal with the rebates.

BB Buslink drives ( at least at my store) are either made by LiteOn or aOpen.
The LiteOn ones say Smartburn on the box , the aOpen ones do not.
Liteon-1 button ,Buslink sticker on drive part ,number LTR-52246S .
aOpen has 2 buttons.

Salesman wouldn't let me open drive in store but said I could return it if it wasn't
what I want. Hauled it out to truck ,opened , returned, got another, then noticed
SmartBurn on some of the boxes.

My LiteOn LTR-52246S works great !
FWIW I read in another forum the aOpens have problems.

Thanks for the headsup!

Went this morning just as they opened at 10am. Nothing on a the shelves so I did ask a salesrep. 5 minutes later he comes out with 4 brand new boxes and hands me one. Unfortunately the one he hands me is a justlink drive, so I put it back and look at the other 3 drives just to make sure they are all justlink. Lucky for me one of them is a smartlink drive (Liteon) so I bought it.

Good luck to all those looking!

I picked up two drives today. One says smartburn and the other Justlink. The BB I went to had both on the shelf. I guess I will be returning the Justlink one. Va Beach:cool:

Just grabbed 3 of em. For those in Atlanta, GA area, the Kennesaw BestBuy has these. It seems to be the only one around atl that has these, that was as of noon today. All of mine say SmartBurn :). Can anyone point to a FAQ or a forum post that could guide me through flashing them if need be.
Thanks.

Aopen drives don't suck. You'll find many people that have them and are perfectly happy.
