Hello:)

My mom currently owns a small business and is tired of having to be at home to order things, pay bills, etc. She's looking for a laptop that is pretty speedy mabe be able to watch movies...<--Doesn't have to. And is about 800-1000 dollars.

She runs a store that sells stuff like teacher stuff...
I suppose she might use quickbooks<--she bought it but she couldn't figure it out <--I wasn't home at the time and she just finally gave up. (note the link in my sig, I'm building a new one...)

Any suggestions? I'm completely lost when it comes to laptops. My parents don't know anything about computers at all so I'm hoping you guys can help out:D please? :cookie:

Is it important for the laptop to be portable, or would something closer to a desktop replacement laptop be more appropriate?

The first thing that comes to mind right now for a business laptop within that budget would be a ThinkPad R51 or Z60m.

I second the R and Z series Thinkpads. Check at Newegg because they have specials on the Thinkpads all the time.

So does Office Depot right now - and you can touch and feel. Also, HP/Compaq have some excellent values on sale.
