...and some parallels could be drawn between you and George Michael in a public restroom. What's your point? I can relate just about anything to anything or anyone to anyone. It doesn't make one either intelligent or worldly. In fact, more often than not lately, it makes people publicly ignorant. Soon, all my fellow Americans will realize that while soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines pay their own price for freedom, so shall those that take greivous advantage of it. Your words are your gun and you're firing it off randomly in the streets. At some point you're gonna shoot the wrong person and pay for your actions. Hollywood seems to be feeling the squeeze lately. Ask the Dixie Chicks how their finances and popularity are at the moment.

Anybody know the history of people who tried to warn the Germans about who Hitler really was and how the public received them at that time? Maybe Bush isn't Hitler. Maybe he's something worse. After all, England, or at least its leader are on Bush's side this time. Who will stop us this time.

Why always assume the negative side of someone?

I wonder, moonbeam, were Bush not to be re-elected in 2004, who would you like to see in the White House and who would like to be the major players so that you would not have room to complain anymore? Or, do you think there is no one capable of doing that? :)

I didn't assume anything, conjur. I just try to focus on those aspects of a situation that the majority seems to want to avoid. Too much negative toward Bush, don't hold your breath, and I'll be reminding people there could be something right about him. :D

Who is George Michael? Is he your secret lover? Its nice that you can relate anything to anything, must come handy sometime? I'm just saying there a lot of similarities b/n what Bushy is doing and what happened becore Hitler did his thing. If you think that makes Bushy another Hitler then go right ahead. But I'm glad you pointed out that if ppl dont agree with the president, they will be left in ruins. It is the American way after all!

Yea, and like I said before, there are HUGE differences (that you and the writer of your article conveniently don't bring up).... so wtf is your point?

I can't figure this out.

Is GW suppose to be a simpleton or the master mind of a plan for world domination where he seems to possess the attributes of Einstein, Freud, and Svengali?

One huge, glaring difference is that Bush is in office under a Democracy. In a few short years, you will all have your very own chance to rid the world of your self-proclaimed "Hitler" and you can get back to doing whatever it is you do in life. That's the miracle of the nation we live in. He will not have to be removed by losing thousands, tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of human lives like your friend Hitler.

ruazn2, your response was utterly pathetic. It's the old magic Moonbeam trick, turn what I said back on me because you are neither creative enough nor have enough class to attack me on my statement alone. I never said that you will be in ruins for disagreeing with the president. I said that saying things that are offensive to the general populace and making statements which go against common decency come with conseqences of their own. No where does that mean ruins to anyone who says something against the president. The very fact that you cannot understand that you cannot make liberal use of your freedoms without some degree of responsibility and culpability demonstrates that you are neither emotionally fit to express them publicly, nor mature enough to understand the ramifications of your actions. Stop stealing bandwidth and oxygen with your rambling, incoherent slander and get on with life. Seems to me you all are so fixated on our current president that you can't see past your own glaring weaknesses. Some of you really do border on some degree of psychotic trauma from the election and it really disturbs me. Three words, "GET OVER IT!" If you really wanted to do some good, stop wasting your time doing what you seem to be doing all day, spewing BS rhetoric, and do something to help your fellow man. Hell, while you're at it, do something that benefits the Iraqi people in some way. Donate food or water or clothing or something. I'm doing my part to help our soldiers deploy to support the peacekeeping mission and logistics of getting the Iraqi people what they need to prevent another Hitler from ruling their nation. I wish somehow I could remember all this and save it and show it to some of you when you've grown out of your childish antics so that you can look back on it all and wonder WTF you were thinking when you put fingers to keyboard.

That is a very stupid point to try and make. One possible similarity does not make a case for any others. I'd call it dishonest but it's more of a moonism.

Godwin's Law /prov./ [Usenet] "As a Usenet discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one." There is a tradition in many groups that, once this occurs, that thread is over, and whoever mentioned the Nazis has automatically lost whatever argument was in progress. Godwin's Law thus practically guarantees the existence of an upper bound on thread length in those groups.

Cool down mister, I don't want to see your blood vessels popping! I'm quite sorry if my response isn't creative and insulting enough for you, I will try harder next time.
Don't act like you know everything and everyting you say is right becasuse it sounds patriotic. HOw is anything I said against the general populace or against common decency? I'm suggesting there are many similarities b/n what went on in the early years of Hitler's reign and Bushy. I'm not saying Bushy is Hitler, he might turn into one, who knows. And you saying I'm like George Michael isn't against common decency? I didn't attack no1 yet you come on here and start making tasteless jokes against me. I think you are the who should get a life. Try not to take everything too seriously or you will die a young age. If you dont' get angry so often, you will have a good memory and you will remember all this.

In case you haven't noticed yet this whole thread and the original article is about comparing Bush and Hitler.

Bush != Hitler.

The similarities are eerie. I got half the way through that article before I realized they were NOT talking about George W Bush.

It's always a pleasure to see somebody spout pedantic garbage and in the next breath completely ignore his own 'wisdom'. Hehe, just kidding too.

A moonism is an example of an etechism I think. Of course I can't be sure.

Jani, thanks for pointing out the obvious, I guess to some. I noticed the same thing but failed to mention it. :D How dare anybody bring up Hitler in a Hitler thread. It's outrageous. :D

Yup, etech, if we hadn't fought the Germans abd defeated Hitler, we'd be debating in German right now. Gott in Himmel. Of course in that example we waited till we got attacked before we launched or emptive strike.

Funny thing, the Nazi card is often used by anti-Bush people referring to Iraq and WWII-Germany. Many comparisons of Bush to Hitler to paint Bush in a negative light.

Yeah...as if Bush is even close to someone who murdered MILLIONS of people and OCCUPIED several countries.

Germany attacked the U.S.?

There were two theaters of war in WWII.

Bush = Hitler? What liberal crapola!!

Hitler was a decorated combat veteran for his country. Hitler not only could read, he wrote books. Hitler was a stirring orator. Finally, Hitler had a least one gonad.

Of course, both ascended to power with a decided minority of the popular vote, and they both named scary ideologues to their cabinets.

Still . . . Bush is no Hitler. :|

After all, Hitler was a self made man!
