The crusading American media and Washington's political elite have closed ranks to protect Vice-President Al Gore from embarrassment over his teenage son's indiscretion.
Albert Gore, 13, was last month suspended from St Albans, the capital's most exclusive private school, after teachers discovered him, another boy and two girls drinking alcohol at a school dance.
The White House and the school refuse to provide any details of the incident but young Albert was also found to be smoking a herbal substance, described by sources as either marijuana or oregano seeds. The other boy was expelled from the £10,000-a-year school, while Albert was let off with a suspension and severe reprimand.

You are clueless dude. I sat right here and watched George Bush Jr. last year with his wife give an interview on one of those christian shows. The guy said he drank and batttled drugs for almost 10 years. He said he had been clean for almost 16 years in the interview. This was after he announced he was going to run for president. So what story did I fabricate? You need to be a man and stop acting like a little school boy who has fell in love with his 3rd grade teacher. I know I do and I am sure others get tired of the same ole excuse making in every instance concerning a republican. They make mistakes just like democrats as we see. They are humans Etech, not gods.

Etech: Last time I looked, neither Gore nor Clinton are the POTUS.
Republicans are so hot on making character an issue...for Democrats.
I was all over Gore about his kids in another forum when those stories came out. The conduct is disgracefull. But there are two things you leave out:
1) The Gore kids were caught in "isolated" (i.e. not multiple) incidents--you can bet if it happened many times, there would have been many reports about it, and many posts in these forums by persons like yourself. Since you keep dredging up the same two stories, there must not be more, eh?
2) Gore was asked about, and publicly addressed both incidents. Bush's affect on his kids must be nil, because his daughters continue to embarras the man.
And one other thing for you to consider:
The conduct of GWB's daughters should not be put into the context of the times in which she lives. She should also not be compared to Gore's kids--Gore was known as a person who was a little less restrictive on his kids. Bush's daughter also did not "grow up" as the daughter of the POTUS. Her behaviour patterns were set long before GWB took ANY office.
BTW, did anyone see the interview with the Ford historian about this subject on CNN last night? They kept flashing a banner under the guy with phrases like "all presidential children are under enormous pressure." They were clearly trying to be Bush apologists--it was so blatant, I wanted to puke.

Big freakin' deal. I smoked cigars when I was 17, you don't see me making news. Her dad is the President, not her. The vast majority of my friends have consumed alcohol while underage, I think I'm the only one that hasn't. While illegal & not terribly intelligent, it's not at all uncommon.

Clinton and Hillary raised an excellent daughter and she has awesome grace, but you have to admit that children do misbehave and do things that their parents aren't always proud of.
Alcohol isn't affecting the Jenna, she is being a teenager. Most teens break rules...i never used a fake ID, but I stayed out till 5-6-7 am in the morning when my curfew was 10pm! It had nothing to do with my mother because she is one of the most devote Chrisitians I know, she doesn't drink, smoke, do drugs, etc. She taught me what was right and wrong, but let me tell you as a teenager I didn't care, and I did what I wanted. It wasn't my mother not being there because she would punish me and I woudl do the same thing the next day.
