Bush working his magic in Afghanistan too.

Sounds like their beef is mostly with the Afghani government. Of course, it's a government installed by the US with the current President an old buddy of Bush's.

Actually it's not. MSF is not the sole humanitarian group that is disturbed by US actions. MSF has never refused entering theaters of violent conflict to provide care. The combatants leave them (and similar groups) alone b/c it's readily apparent that aid groups have come to serve the people and never take a side in the conflict. MSF is an apolitical humanitarian organization, PERIOD.

What the ideologues in Bush Central have attempted to do is to co-opt the humanitarian message of aid groups and wrap it around their political ideology. Unfortunately, putting a silk dress on this pig has not improved the general perception of the pig AND it has done irreparable harm to the fabric of humanitarian groups. Bushies had nothing to lose but humanitarian groups have lost the sole weapon at their disposal . . . their reputation as impartial providers of assistance to people in need.

Does anyone know if this is common practice..the American Red Cross people here are wearing us pattern DCU's at least where I am.

Was that common practice in previous wars? That would appear to tie them directly to the US military...which in all honesty they are here to support.
