Bush with higher approval rating than Clinton?

heh, more conservative generalizing and bashing.

Only some of the very extreme environmentalists want to do away with cars. Not the 20% of the U.S. population which have liberal views.

<< That fuel is nucleur. >>

That could be one solution, but it still poses environmental threats. What about solar and wind? These technologies are improving constantly. If you are interested in nucluer, why don't you talk about working on fusion technology, a much better alternative to nucleur. The government stopped this research. I wonder why. Maybe it has something to do with not enough funding, oh, wait, bush is about to give the people back over a trillion dollars. Wait! Couldn't we use that money to actually fund government environmental programs, educational programs, and military enhancements. Or is this country just too bone-headed to figure that one out.

<< There are more trees in the U.S. now than in any other time in its histroy >>

Considering the millions of trees that have been knocked down in the US alone, not including Canada this seems like a very interesting statistic. What conservative-bloated magazine or article did you get that republican-avoid-the-problem statistic. I would seriously like to know? National Enquirer? What?

I would also like to agree with Yata on the point about drilling in every area except where joe-blow human resides. Does it make sense to pursue expensive and publicly unfavorable solutions to an energy crisis when so many simpler, cleaner, and faster methods exist. It is obvious that if Bush had a brain in his head, and wasn't the idiot who got in because his dad was president, he would know that continually pursuing the drilling of oil in Alaska and all over the US would not be favorable to his public opinion or the environment.

Torminator also mentioned that all liberals are not taking the bus or carpooling, this may be so, but they are also focusing on trying to initiate new energy policies as well and trying to help clean up the environment. Your comment about my post being the dumbest makes me think very highly of you, and I am so glad that you mentioned it so intelligently to me. I am really dealing with a highly intelligent individual.

<< I think he's just got nothing to say. Don't you think the guy suffers from lack in skills and in knowing that, compensate the public with a rebate check. The guy wants to privatize social security during the election. Look at the stock market now. We'll see what happens next. Wasn't the election rigged too? What's not? >>

I agree completely Yata.

At least be aware that the ONLY thing holding back research is the side you choose to be on! I grew up during the attempt at giving nuclear energy a try.....change in regulations every month by a self interested mostly Liberal Democrat party killed ALL efforts at any hope of getting more plants on line...This was by design and made new plants just way too expensive to build.

Solar or wind are part of the solution, but we only need look at California's current problems to see it is a small part and not viable for the most part.

I will remind that Government is the biggest waste of Dollars in existence and mostly only present more unsolvable problems rather than solutions that make sense.

There have been more trees in the US since the early 70s. No wacko right-wingers need be asked to verify. If you had any knowledge at all on the subject you would know what is common knowledge. But, as I realised early in life, knowledge is a Liberal's worst enemy.

Point of view, isn't it Tom? There have been more trees since I don't know when, but they aren't the same kind. You can chop down old growth forests (including redwoods) and replace them with fast growing conifers (such as they do) and though you have more trees in the same area, they aren't of the same quality.

In all fairness, many of the trees re-planted provide a better habitat and a very very short growth cycle, but who is replacing the old-growths... Next to no one but those whiney ass liberal tree-huggers you hate 😉

Bud, you need to admit something....I do not HATE anyone for their beliefs or opinions....I differ in opinion and wish harm to no one ever...This is another difference beteen Liberals and Conservatives...

Trees are a crop. No more and no less.....

BTW, again I make the challenge...How many trees have YOU planted in your life? I number mine in at least the hundreds....You?

One more thing pertaining to Bush...

When he went to Europe last, the expectations were so low that as long as he didn't get us in a war with France, his trip would be hailed a success.

But Bush doesn't understand Europe (nor do they him), and he most definitely doesn't understand Russia.

Bush is Vlad's Bitch

This is important for many reasons... his weakness in foreign affairs can (and probably will) be exploited by individuals like Putin and Zemin. These guys aren't turkey's. They are experienced, intelligent, highly educated, cunning, and self-motivated. Everything Bush isn't. Bush is going back to Europe, still branded a unilateralist, and still seen as a cowboy. And with Putin showing backbone, Bush is looking quite vulnerable from an international point of view.

You also have to throw in the fact that Bush came into office promising a hard-line with the Chinese (dubbing them a strategic competitor), but he caved in during the P3 crisis. He also backed out of a non-binding agreement between UN countries to track small arms shipments around the world (why, because it is a 1.4 billion dollar business, and NRA and gun companies own a piece of his ass).

Bush has us looking pretty bad around the world. And it's only been 7 months!

Give boy george two years. By then, Canada will probably be threatening to invade, and California will be threatening to secede... 😉

Eh,

Probably about 30 at various times. I like midget fruit trees.

If you count decorative shrubs, it goes way higher 🙂

I do volunteer work (actually used to with my wife, I travel too much now), but getting dirty isn't me

Hats off to you planting...

I LIKE a Pres that does not cave to Europe! I do not really care what they think as everything about the US, be Bush or Clinton the President, is lusted after by their leaders. They WISH they had our problems!

Andrew - "phantom" checks? As long as they cash, I don't see the problem. If you don't want it, send it back to the IRS... Uh huh... didn't think so...

soapdish - campaign finance (AKA the squelching of free speech) has not been HIGHER than 15th on the "How important is it to you" poll of American people. It was shelved because it would take too long to resolve a subject that there is no easy agreement on, and that is taking up time that could be spent on critical issues.

Tripleshot - The House bill failed because they wanted a quick vote, instead of investigating each amendment. Geez, how "unfair."

<< McCain, who shepherded his reform bill to Senate passage this year with co-sponsor Russ Feingold, D-Wis., called the demand for 14 separate votes ? instead of one vote on all the amendments ? ?unprecedented? as far as he knew. >>

So what is the fix? Attach it to everythign and anythig that goes through the House, ensuring that NOTHING gets done. Good move.

<< Another option would be to have the Senate attach the legislation to a House-passed bill, which would send it back to the House for action. McCain said he had spoken with Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, D-S.D., and ?he?s agreeable to attaching ... campaign finance reform to bills that have to be passed by the House over there. >>

I don't give a rats rear quarter if McCain was a war veteran, he is no longer operating with the best interests of this country in mind... and for that, I say SHOOT HIM. All he wants is his attention. He is bitter about getting his butt handed to him in the primaries, and now is out to ensure the administration can't get anything done.

Ask the average everyday citizen what the biggest issue facing this country is. I bet you odnt get 10 out of 100 that say campaign finance. YOu wil lget more "economy" and "energy" than anything else, with campaign finance ranking somewhere around "studies of methane emissions of bovine animals and their effects on the color of grass."

<<Bush has us looking pretty bad around the world. And it's only been 7 months!>>

Funny, most of what I've seen is that Bush impressed most of the leaders he had contact with when he went overseas. He actually showed that he had an amazing command of the subject matter they were dealing with....not at all what the Euros or our own press was expecting.

All who think Bush is an idiot, well.....he's not that sharp in front of the camera like Clinton or Reagan, but that means.....nothing.
I'll bet the rest of this year's salary that 99.9% of the people here that call Bush stupid would get steamrolled by old "W" in a debate about ANYTHING they say he isn't sharp on, particularly in private where neither person would have to worry about looking distinguished in front of the camera.
The man is the first president to have an MBA, from Harvard no less.....and don't throw up that bit about he only had a C average....so what? Where's your degree from? Think one from Harvard or Yale might be a bit more meaningful than yours A or B average at State U?
Most people would.

<< The man is the first president to have an MBA, from Harvard no less.....and don't throw up that bit about he only had a C average....so what? >>

This may be so, and it may even look pretty nice, but the only reason bush ever got into harvard was because his dad had some connections there. Is that really the honest ole W. that you people voted for? That doesn't seem much more honest than clinton to me....

How do you know he got in because of his dad? Have you seen his transcripts from high school? Didn't think so.
Even if what you claim is true, W still had to do the work once he got there....I doubt an institution like that just gave him the degree.
You keep on bashing and it looks like you're one of those people who W would make look like chopped liver discussing the issues. The man isn't dumb like you think....you would look dumb trying to argue the issues with him.

Pacfanweb

Clinton was a Rhodes Scholar.I think that trumps a C average run of the mill MBA in spite of Harvard or Yale! Bush is still an idiot, and so are many who apologise for him in this forum.

>>I don't give a rats rear quarter if McCain was a war veteran, he is no longer operating with the best interests of this country in mind... and for that, I say SHOOT HIM.<<

And you God fearing respectful conservatives are now advocating "shooting" a senator of your own party? For What?!? trying to put a crimp in soft money financing and the pay offs and inpropriety that insues? You haven't got much say about the issue. It's obvious from your post you know little if anything about what happened in the House on this vote. You can't comrehend what is said or printed in the article, so you jump in and start the typical mypoic flame war that Tominator claims your ilk doesn't subscribe to. He says that's the domain of liberals to do that. We see different now.

Thanks for proving Tominator wrong. 🙂

My question:

Bush was a C- student at Yale, so how was he accepted in to a Harvard MBA with that average?

Seriously... Do you think daddy had anything to do with it?

Tripleshot...correction...a Rhodes Scholar that flunked out! He never finished his education and choose a political life instead.

McCain's only claim to fame is a Bill that indeed does twart the 1st amendment.....and he is grasping at straws for his own sake! Only an uninformed public would support that bill....or a Liberal!
