The economy has cycles, and we're just in a down swing. People make it sound like fixing the economy is so easy... just elect their favorite candidate. If it was that easy, we'd be in constant prosperity and we wouldn't be having these and and down cycles like we've been having since the beginning of our economy.
If you are referring to me, I am not saying that at all. What I am saying is that there are only 2 things the average voters wants, called "Bread and Circuses." Right now, GW is providing too much "Circus" and not enough "Bread." I'm not saying he's responsible. What I am saying is that the voters will hold him responsible come next November if things don't improve. This is common election theory, btw.

Nope, Bush won the recounts in all kinds of ways but the ones that matter. Total statewide vote of all ballots legally countable by state law, Gore won. The way you are supposed to win the election is the way gore won. Bush and the Supreme Coup stopped the count. Naturally, the exit polls had been right and they knew it.
That was almost 2.5 years ago...just get over it and vote against him next time.

(Both candidates sucked anyway, it's not like it mattered who won.)

our only hope is the '0' year curse 🙂

Ah, but you forget that if Bush dies in office, he will be remembered as a great president and we don't want that do we.

yeah i hope so, but u know u will get flamed for this, but i hate him so i hope he getss booted out.

Dogg

Do you know what the year 0 curse is?

Ryan

I think this was the creepiest thing I ever studied in history. Sure there are the wars and whatnot but the 0 curse is just really odd. I'm pretty sure it started with Jackson and the Trail of Tears, didn't it? My history teacher told us it was an Indian who was rumored to cast the curse or something along those lines.

Interesting stuff.

Harison was the first victim of the curse in 1840. His inauguration speech was delivered in the cold of winter and was so long that he caught pneumonia and died a month later. I hadn't heard the story of Jackson and the trail of tears.

To all you Bush bashers, have you ever thought about what is going to happen when the economy starts to rebound before the next election? Look at all the earnings reports so far from the big companies.

shh.some do not like a results based president and would much rather just have sugar blown up their ass.

That's assuming the results are positive. Right now all we're seeing is something being blown out of asses, and it ain't sugar.

history will always look at people in a good light. look at nixon

I'm looking at Nixon right now.

Good: He took us out of Vietnam.
Bad: He's a "crook" to sum it up 😛

I don't think Nixon is exactly treated too well by history. I don't know anyone who thinks of him as a great American president.

JEDI, do you have any factual information towards this argument, or do you simply know how to say "we're being cheated, no more war, Bush is a war monger" and then wish death upon him? You're coming off as such the intellectual 🙂

First of all, Reagan broke the year 0 curse. Second of all, that is a terrible thing to say about our nation's president, no matter what you think of him.

Ryan

I beg to differ rgwalt. Not only is it patriotic to speak out for your beliefs it is your DUTY. In a democracy leaders are chosen by the people, and if you do not wish for a particular leader to be re-elected, you should not only vote against him, but explain why you are not voting for him (in a respectful manner to people who are willing to listen of course)

That's a republic, not a democracy. 😉

I don't care how much you dislike a candidate, wishing for that candidate to get killed is NOT appropriate. Or did you just not know what the '0' year curse was?

Yeah i do know what it means, but i said he would get flamed because of this anti-bush statement, not because of the '0' year curse.
