President George W. Bush threatened on Tuesday to veto a bill to fund the Iraq war and Hurricane Katrina rebuilding if its cost exceeds $92.2 billion, as he weighed in on a heated Senate debate over the bill's rising price tag.

Yep. I'll be delighted if he shows he's actually grown a set and follows through. Of course that will further antagonize his increasingly wayward lackeys in Congress, who might grow sets of their owns and stop rubber-stamping Bush's every whim. So I think you're right, he won't follow through. Congress will make some token changes, Bush will claim victory, and we taxpayers will take it in the shorts ... again.

Bush never met a spending bill (with some extra pork attached) he didn't like. Yeah Bush is a jerk all right - perhaps we could take him more seriously as a "fiscal conservative" (laughing my ass off as I type that), if he would actually follow through once in a while and you know, actually veto something?!
