This really makes me sick. And people here wonder why practically the whole world hates the US. It's not Americans, its the kiss ass, professional screw up freak shows that run our country! This sure is one way to win the hearts and minds of Arabs, but I guess who cares about that, we can always invade and destroy them if needed.

Israel made a first and unilateral move towards something the Palestinians have said they wanted( Israel's pullout of Gaza)

Now you condemn Israel for that move.

You sound like the palestinians, until they have all of the land of the middle east and the sea runs red with Jewish blood they won't be happy.

Don't tell me you don't understand why Palestinians and the entire Arab world are mad about this unilateral move. The key word is unilateral. What kind of negotiation or peace process is it when one party ignores the other totally and goes ahead decide by themselves what is theirs and what is not? The only people who does this sort of thing are gangsters who just take what they want.

It's true the pullout of Gaza is a positive first move. But that is totally offset by the Bush's historical reorganization of Israel's claim on portions of West Bank. What right does Bush have giving that kind of reorganization? Does he own West Bank?

It doesn't matter what Israel does, they give back land and the pals bitch. If the pals think they are going to get the 1967 borders than they need to wake up and get over it. They aren't.

Unfortunately no one will ever be happy there. I believe both sides have become so accustomed to all the violence they can't see beyond it. If one side offers something the other will look at it as if it is a poison snake, which it probably is. The best hope is they keep talking enough to keep the shooting/bombing down.

The brainwashing is strong in this one.

Tell me, did the pals suicide bomb the egyptians when they occupied their land?

I don't know, did the Egyptians treat the Palestinians worse than animals? If so, maybe it would have been just a matter of time. Point is, you people all know that Israel is stealing land and intends to steal more. How you cannot admit that is amazing. What would you do if you were a Palestinian? I really want to know, and don't give me any of that "I would act like Gandhi" BS, you and I both know it would not work against Israel. "But it would make the Palestinians not look like terrorists" you say, does it matter? As long as the US kisses Israels ass, Gandhi or no Gandhi, the Israelis will have their cake and eat it too.

Sharon and Bush are a frightening couple.

I wonder who would be the pitcher and who would be the catcher?
I know the US grabs it's ankles anytime Israel pleases but I wonder perhaps Bush is more forceful in private.

it is unilateral because there are no honest peace brokers for the palestinians. hamas, plo all have the official position that their ultimate goal is the destruction of israel. you cannot have honest negotiations with people who would negotiate the first step towards your destruction. they were not satisfied before 67 when they were not occupied, it is a myth that all they want is the 67 armstice lines. yes, they were armistice lines, not borders. their tactic is simply to reject peace at every chance, and kill civilians when they don't get everything they want. that is not negotiation. they rejected the geneva accords for f*ck sake, which are so absurd no israeli in their right mind would accept it.

since all palestinians can do is kill civilians and make demands, israel taking its own steps and pulling out of gaza while not rewarding terrorism is the only path palestinians have left to israel. and the fact is that is all the palestinians deserve. their selected path of terrorism over decades does not allow for israel to simply hand them almost everything without rewarding such behavior. they cannot appease those who turned to attrocities at every chance. and well, its a simple truth that to the victor goes the spoils, and in this case, to the victims of terrorism go the spoils. let alone after several wars. eastern germany is now part poland, and western germany is now part of france thanks to hitler. germany will not get that land back. welcome to reality:p

not to mention the palestinians absurd claims for right of return. you cannot negotiate with people who would have a state, then send their refugees into yours to overwhelm you. the palestinians state such things are unegotiable.

Hire some old east-germans and soviets, build a wall on the green line. Anyone that tries to get over the wall is shot.

Won't work. The old east-Germans and soviets built their wall to keep their people in their country. The Israelis want a wall to try and keep the terrorist suicide bombers out of their country. The east-Germans and Soviet guards would be looking in the wrong direction if they were in Israel.

You know I would agree with you on that on the condition that Israel dismantle ALL settlements and withdraw to the green line. It's quite obvious that the two can't coexist peacefully and need to be separated.

What if the Israeli's gave the Palestineans living in Israel (not the occupied territories) full citizenship including the right to vote?

Would never happen. They're already freaked about the potential demographic shifts their current population of Israeli Arabs might have on the "Jewishness" of Israel. Also, how many Palestinians live in Israel? I don't know, I was just under the impression that any Arab in Israel is already an Israeli citizen.

What if they actually let them hold seats in the Knesset or even be a cabinet member? What is Israel even let Arab woman vote in elections?

Roughly 20% of Israel's citizens are Arabs, and they can vote and hold elected offices. This is part of the problem with the so-called "right of return" issue. If it were granted, and the eligible Palestinians did return, it would mean either the end of Israel as a Jewish state, or the end of Israel as a democracy.
