How about when he said in the 3rd debate something along the lines of

Thats exactely what I have done in the state of Texas, I brought Democrates and Rebublicans together to pass the HMO bill of rights Bill.



When the truth was that he either vetoed or rejected the bill twice, and finally on the 3rd attempt of bill, he refused to sign it into law, so it went into effect without he support.

People like Rush Limbaugh talk alot of Gore's exaggerations or errors in small details, but he doesn't talk about Bush's mistakes like this.


There also was a radio report a few days ago of Bush during a campaign speach where he was recorded as he fumbled and stumbled thru a few of his normal political catch phrases that he had said over 1000 times before. He was just talking about his normal family stuff, and about not trusting the government, nothing too comlicated, nothing with numbers or facts that needed reporting. The man was just painful to listen to, he just couldn't put 2 well developed thoughts together. I wish someone had a wave file of this so I could have some Bush supporters listen to.

Governor Bush supports a federal patient bill of rights that provides every American the same strong protections as those already enacted in Texas.


Under Governor Bush, Texas gained some of the toughest patient protection laws in the nation. In 1997, Governor Bush supported and signed multiple bills [including: House Bill 3269, Senate Bills 382, 383, 384, 385] that are together considered the best patient protection laws in the country. These provisions removed a special interest loophole from a bill he had earlier vetoed and provided far more comprehensive patient protections. He also allowed a sixth bill to become law that made Texas the first state in the country to allow patients to appeal denials of care through a strong independent review process and take HMOs to court. Some of the patient protections passed under Governor Bush in Texas include:

Expanded patient freedom of choice. (HB 3269)

Implemented portability of health insurance. (SB 385)

Prohibited "gag clauses." (SB 385, SB 383)

Ensured specialty care. (SB 385)

Provided direct access and extended care for women. (SB 54, HB 349, HB 102)

Removed financial incentives for limiting services. (SB 383, SB 385)

Required coverage and payment of emergency services. (SB 383, SB 384)

Required HMO report cards. (SB 385)

Allow patients to appeal medical treatment decisions. Based on legislation Governor Bush allowed to become law, patients in Texas have the right to appeal medical treatment decisions by HMOs through a strong independent review process and take the HMOs to court.

Oh yeah, you must be the smart one in y'r family heh? Do you want a president who's smooth at delivering lies, or one that may not be as smooth but stands where you want him to stand on the issues??

And no, don't start this into a Gore vs Bush thread, just in general, I think there's way too much attention paid to the delivery instead of the message. For example, Clinton told incredible bold faced lies throughout his term, but because of his delivery people with limited intellectual capacity didn't see through the lies.....

I'd rather have someone that bumbles and stumbles through every speech if that person is a good leader and honest, although honest politicians do not exist anymore

That is another one of the problems I have with Bush. Things like blowing a large part of the massive budget surplus to the top 1% of the tax payers, and removing about 1 Trillion out of the SOc Sec fund doesn't sound like issues that I can support. How about making the Soc Sec fund secure for the future, using a plan like Gores Lock box funding. And giving away such a massive surplus just for a one time tax break to the more weathly sounds like a waste when other more important things can be done with the money, like paying down the debt as Gore as proposed.




I have watched and listened to Bush closely enough. I have have very little confidence in his intelligence or his abilty to solve problems on his own. Maybe he can surround himself with good enough people if he gets elected. His lackluster showing in the debates and vague speaches rarely mention the specifics of his proposals, especially things dealing with numbers. The only way he survived the debates was because he didn't have to get into any detail in any subject matter.



Vote for who you feel is right and who can solve some of the problems that aways seem to be coming up.
