Oh so Bush cant do it, but it was perfectly fine for Slick Willy to do it for 8 years. Sure whatever.
And didn't the Republicans berate him for it? Can you say "hypocrites"? Just like Bush selling sleepovers at the White House -- if it was so evil of Clinton why is it OK for Bush?Originally posted by: LH

Vote your G-damn conscience for once and stop trying to figure out which vote keeps your job and which may lose it. Pathetic. Some Democrats suspect that Bush wants to put Democrats on the spot by forcing them to vote on Iraq and risk antagonizing either hawkish or dovish voters in their states right before Election Day.
Yep. I don't see what democrats are afraid of. If there are legitimate questions about this Iraq adventure, dems should raise them. If in the final analysis they disagree, they should vote that way. Big deal they lose Congress this election. That will set them up better for 2004, since the Republicans will have noone left to blame. Bush will be "economy stupid"ed out of office just like his daddy. All Democrats need to do is have some moderate candidate, prefferably a veteran to scoop it up.Originally posted by: JellyBaby

I wonder why this is just now becoming a revelation to some of you. Bush has been on the campaign trail for this upcoming election, raising an unbelievable 115 million for GOP candidiates on tax payer dollars, covering with some photo op and public announcement at every visit to some fund raiser acrossthe nation.
Bush is abosolutely politisizing this war effort against Saddam and Al Quada because of the dismal mess he has made with domestic issues such as the economy.
He is the most embarrasing President I have seen at times. Sometimes he is on que (and then you wonder who his speech writers are), and others he is a loose cannon, shooting from the hip and exposing his utter ignorance of the important issues facing this country.
What a legacy he will have.![]()

While I disagree with what Bush said, I think Daschle is blowing this out of proportion. For starters, he quotes Bush as saying "The Democratically controlled Senate is more interested in special interests in Washington and not interested in the security of the American people." When in fact, Bush said "The House responded, but the Senate is more interested in special interests in Washington and not interested in the security of the American people." There was no mention of Democrats there, and I don't believe that it was implied, either. Bush was trying to send a message to the Senate to get off their lazy @sses and hurry up with a resolution (again, I disagree with Bush's remarks).

I think it's funny that everytime there is a complaint about Bush that people automatically justify what he does by pointing out what another president did. If I get pulled over for speeding I can't just say "well I saw this other guy going fast a little ways back" and get out of it can I? Why is it so hard to just talk about what is currently going on?

I agree 100%
Kinda like Bush when he accuses the house of being more interested in special interest groups?Originally posted by: shinerburke
Daschle is just being a weeeee bit hypocritical when he accuses President Bush of "politicizing the war"
Ok, he didn't put the words in.....happy? Still doesn't change the fact that he keeps repeating them in order to get some political gain out of them. He keeps hoping the story will have legs and give the Dems some sort of advantage. Problem is that most people I know agree with the President in that Congress, especially the Senate, is dragging it's feet on the issue of Homeland Defense. I have heard that opinion put for by both Democrat and Republican.......Originally posted by: Jugernot
Guys, have you even read the article in which Daschle quoted? He quoted the article, NOT THE PRESIDENT! You guys keep saying he put those words in, but he didn't....
